I admit I did not know smart lightbulbs were a thing until I received this one - and now I'm thinking about installing them in the rest of my house. Getting the bulb up and running was really easy. I'm using it in my bedroom and its so nice to be able to dim and turn the lights on and off from my phone (aka from bed). I have to say, though, I am not sure how much use the colored lights will get. Its a fun party trick I guess but does not have much other use in my place.

It is awesome that on command we can turn the light on/off, easily change the color or dim the light...all while sitting on my couch asking Siri. I know this is not a needed item and we did get it as a sample to use. After using this I could see myself purchasing one in the future as this would be great in the kids room (changing the colors to the season or activity).

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this light bulb! First off, you can change the color of it to any color you could think of! My daughter loves this! Second, we have a light that is so hard to get to to switch in and off. I have used remote controlled outlets but they always seem to stop working after several months. With this light bulb you can switch the light on and off just by your smart phone. Never have to worry about it not working. It was very easy for my disable parents that I went and bought 3 for their house for them to use! I bought the exact ones! I absolutely love these and will be buying more for my house!

Color light!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first smart bulb ever and I'm honestly scratching my head wondering why I haven't changed all my bulbs out with these. The setup was super simple -- I screwed the bulb in and turned on the lamp, then scanned a QR code while near the bulb and it added the device to Apple Home. From there, I can turn it on and off, adjust the brightness, and change the color. I couldn't recommend this bulb more!

Easy to Setup and Looks Great!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The bulb was incredibly simple to setup. Just scan the QR code, and that's pretty much it! You really can't mess it up. It is fairly responsive, but I did notice a bit of a delay at times, even when using it fairly close. It was a small delay, one or two seconds tops, so it really isn't a big deal. It's a solid smart bulb, and I would definitely recommend it.

Simple and beautiful

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a Sylvania Smart+ BR30 Color LED Light Bulb for Apple HomeKit and Siri as a sample to test and review. I was not aware of this particular product before receiving the sample. I also haven't had any product like this before so I cannot compare to anything similar other than a standard A-type LED bulb for a floor lamp. This was easy enough to set up- the instructions are pretty simple and straightforward. I believe anyone with a little technical knowledge and is comfortable using an iPhone can set this up following it step by step. The key is to know if you have an Apple HomeKit "hub" which is required. That simply means that you need another device like an Apple Home speaker or an iPad that is connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Once you get it set up, it's easy to control and pretty responsive. It has a few set colors or you can go in and fine-tune it for a large range of colors and hues. The only drawback for me was that, especially when on white, the bulb did not get bright enough. When on the colors, just to set for mood lighting, it doesn't really need to be brighter. It would also be nice if there was some way you could set it to automatically just cycle through the colors or have it do colors randomly which would be great in a party setting. I'm not sure that I would have a need at this time to buy it for myself but I would recommend it to anyone looking for this kind of bulb.

SOmewhat useful

I love that I can turn on the light simply by using my phone. I hate walking into a dark house, but I also don't like leaving lights on while we are gone. This has worked out great as I can turn the light on from my car/garage before I enter the house.

Super easy setup and use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] *I was sent this product at no charge to review for my honest feedback* When I received the Sylvania Smart+ BR30 Color LED Light Bulb, I wasn't quite sure of the best place to install it in our home to make sure it got proper testing. Then we noticed that we were constantly having to go upstairs because our 8 year-old NEVER shuts off the hall light outside her room. We installed it and added to the app and within five minutes the problem was solved. My kids love it because they can use their iPads to change the colors on the light to make it almost like a "disco ball". I was honestly surprised at the number of color names you could say to activate the light (think celadon, cornflower, etc..). I'm ready to buy more of these bulbs for every room in our home so that saving electricity as well as turning on when out of town or coming home late for safety is that much easier. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who wants a lighting option that can control from a mobile device.

Great Option for Forgetful Children

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have never used smart bulbs before and didn't know Sylvania made this particular product, though I was generally aware that these types of products exist. I was lucky enough to try this bulb out for free in exchange for my honest opinion. Setup was easy - take it out of the box, screw it into whatever light receptacle you want, open Apple Home, add accessory by scanning the QR code on the light bulb itself, and start controlling it with your phone. Switching colors isn't easy to figure out (I know that it's color because when the light first connected to Apple Home, it cycled through three colors, defaulted to the soft yellow light, and I can't find anywhere how to make it change back to a certain color) but turning the light on and off with my phone was easy breezy. The one thing I wish was that this could be controlled when I am away from home. This only worked when I was connected to Bluetooth so this is NOT a solution if you're trying to make it appear like you're home by turning on your lights, when you're really not. Otherwise, for the purpose of trying to control the light with my phone, it's super easy! And it's an added plus that a central hub or HomeKit is not necessary.

Easy install and works well with Apple Home

Other light systems have their own hubs and this relies on HomeKit for its multi light integration. As an apple user this is perfect. If you use a different platform it has challenges. Overall. A good product.
