We replaced a previous T-Fal Avante we had for many years. This updated replacement raises the toast higher, making it possible to remove without tongs. The design is simpler and more elegant. There used to be two levers for each pair of slots. One to push the toast down. Another to raise it. Now one lever both lowers and raises the toast. It even looks simpler and more elegant.

Improved design.

This new Tfal toaster replaces an older Tfal model that we had for 15 years. It finally gave up about a year ago and we had a brief affair with a cheap something-or-other that made lousy toast and then just stopped altogether. This new Tfal makes great evenly toasted toast and doesn't take forever to do it. Highly recommended.

Great toaster

The first impression I had of the T-fal Element Stainless Steel 4 Slice Toaster was that it was actually a very nice device. It looks like a premium toaster brand should and works as such. Our old toaster grilled at different levels on each side, even when set to the same setting. This toaster grills our bread and bagels evenly and in the right darkness. I highly recommend the T-fal brand and this T-fal Element Stainless Steel 4 Slice Toaster!

Fantastic toaster

I got the 2 slice toaster, I have a family that loves toast and I can say that last year I had three different toasters. I love that this toaster is easy to clean, if you want to remove your toast before the end you can. Large cracks can contain thick bread and bagels and grill frozen bread evenly. I am extremely satisfied with this toaster and I highly recommend it to anyone who has a family like mine who loves toast.

The best toaster I've ever used

This toaster is a replacement for another TFal that was being retired. As always, a great brand making great appliances.

Tfal 4 slice toaster

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Right out of the box, the T-fal Element Stainless Steel Toaster looks nice. It fits well in my kitchen. It is light weight and easy to move out from under the cabinets (a good thing for me). It performs well, completing the toasting of 4 slices of bread faster than my previous "cheap" toaster. The 2 darkness adjustments have a nice "click" feel to them and I can get anything from very light to very black in their range.  When toasting 4 slices of bread to the same darkness, both sides pop at almost the exact same time. That was a surprise.

Now I have 2 issues with this toaster.
1) The bagel setting toasts both sides of items in the slots. I was not expecting that and don't like it.
2) Slightly doughy items (like some types of bagel) in the toast slots tend to stick to the inside, and prevent automatic pop-up. You then have to force the items up with the slot handle. With a name like T-fal I expected non-stick.

Overall, the toaster looks good and makes toast.  But it isn't any better than my previous cheap toaster.

It toasts 4 slices at a time.. Sounds tinny when toast pops up. It toasts more on one side of a slice than the other..

Doesn't toast evenly. One side is always toasted better than the other but if you don't mind flipping over half way then the toaster is ok.
