I love the Tcl television I just bought.  The picture is very good and the sound is good.  Since I am hard of hearing I also bought the TCL sound bar and the sound is now excellent,    The only thing I wish were different is the position of the legs on the TV.  Putting the sound bar in front of the TV blocks the on/off of the TV with the remote and other than wall mount I have no idea how to fix it.  I do like the TV and the sound bar very much.

Delivered in two days in perfect condition. This is our second TCL in the house and I love them both!

Love this TV

I love this TV so far. I've never had this brand before so I had to figure out all of the settings but it was super easy. Even though it was expected to be delivered in over a weeks time, it came in 2 days. Its very light weight and picture and sound is very good. I highly recommend.

I love it!!!

This TV works great for games and video streaming. I actually own two. It has 5G capability, so if you get lag, its probably not the TV. There are 2 downsides though.

The sounds is very low. I have a 20inch that sounds significantly louder at 10% than this one does at full volume. I think its intentional so they can sell the sound bar, which is blatantly advertised on the TVs instruction manual. Luckily I did not buy it for sound.

Secondly, the feet are flimsy,  triangular, and steep. Anytime I try to plug something into the back and it gets too close to the edge, the TV almost falls forward. Its very dangerous.
I notice a lot of modern TVs are designed this way. Its very unstable and a terrible design idea. Id be lying if I said I didnt think this was done intentionally, to cause early breakage.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

Using two remotes, Roku to power on, then Spectrum to get cable channels, then back to Roku for volume then back to Spectrum to change channels.
So far so good with picture, sound and size.

55in TCL Roku T.V.

This is my second purchase of this 55" model for the bedrooms.   It's a solid TV, good picture and nice interface at a great price.    The picture isn't UHD but you can't tell the difference.    Sound is okay but not great.  My Samsung UHD in the living room is much better there.    The only issue I've found is that the HDMI ports can't handle high definition audio.   On some of my Blu-Rays I can get the directors commentary while the actual audio from the movie won't play.    My Samsung does both.   This is hanging on a wall so no Blu Ray will be connected and it's great beyond that defect.

Great For Streaming

So far the tv has been pretty consistent as far as color, pixel and easy of use. Wish it could be louder without sounding like you are being screamed at, meaning, clearer. 

The cons: the commercials are 5-10 levels louder than the shows on almost every app. Unlike the Roku boxes, you can't level the sound so you are stuck increasing the volume between each commercial and lowering it, or,  getting a jolt each time the commercials start.

The TV also randomly forgets it's connected to our home Wi-Fi. It shows connected on our router but when the tv is on, it says can't find network. When you search for your network it can't find any. The only option you have is to reset your network settings and set up again. When you have a long router password mixed with upper, lower case and numbers, exceeding 12 in length, it's really annoying to go through this. Not to mention you can't use voice to input your password because it's linked to an active Wi-Fi connection.

The tv has zero visibility if any light hits the screen. In order to really see a clear picture, all the blackout curtains must be drawn, otherwise the color depth/intensity matches that to my old 55” LCD tv from 2008. Seriously.

I guess you get what you pay for, thankfully I added an extended warranty as I'm not sure this tv will last as long as my 2008 that still works perfectly.

Almost 1 year after purchase - the pros and cons

Probably the best bang for your buck. I'm mostly pleased, but I'm replacing a Vizio (3 busted TV's in 18 months!), so my bar is pretty low!  The picture is good, sound is better than the Vizio, it's easy to get up and running.  I hooked up my coaxial cable and it created quite the live local selection on "Antenna."  My main frustration is the remote.  There is often a long delay between pressing a button on the remote and the TV responding.  And I have to aim the remote at just the right angle to get the signal to register on the TV.  Also, there is no input for an RCA cable (my fault for not checking ahead of time), so I have no way to connect my old DVD player or Wii.

Great value, but remote-to-TV response is slow

I've had the TCL-Roku TV about a year now. Would never purchase a TCL again. I have superb internet but this TV continues to tell me it can't connect. I'll be watching show on ESPN  and the screen will go black and lock up. Nothing on the remote will reset the TV. There is no power button on the TV so I have to unplug the TV and plug it back in to restore the program. This has happened numerous times during one show. I know the internet is not the problem as I can go in the bedroom with the old TV with Roku stick and it works perfectly (it's just smaller than we'd like for our living room). It's to the point that I'm ready to retrieve and use the old, smaller TV (with the Roku stick), the TV that works, and give the TCL to the grandkids for gaming. That's about all it is good for at this time. As the title implies, you've been warned!
