Wearing this coat is like free falling into the waiting arms of the friendliest polar bear on earth. This coat is everything I have always envisioned a Parka to be. It's not too bulky or restricting. Give me this coat, a nice pair of boots and a hot chocolate, I'll brave the alaskan wilderness like Into the Wild. I've purchased a lot of North Face products over the years and probably 6 or 7 winter coats, although satisfied, none made me feel the way this coat has made me feel. Kudos to The North Face.

Like Being Hugged By A Polar Bear

I bought the jacket on the weekends I visited San Francisco. It was extremely cold and wet weather and I unfortunately did not prepare well enough for the weather. Luckily I went to the north face on post street and had help from the most friendliest guy I met that day. He helped me try on some jackets and I loved the fit and warmth of the Gotham 3. For the rest of the weekend I kept telling myself how much I loved the jacket because I just needed the one to keep warm. My wife also loves the jacket. She loves the face guard that's in the hoodie and her hands were always warm. Thank you The North Face for this amazing jacket!

Best jacket I own!

I'm Asian, 5'8", 145lbs, athletic/lean build. In store, TNF only carries small, but online they carry extra small. The small in store was slightly long on the arms and was longer than I'd like past my waist for this sort of bomber-style jacket. TNF online recommended I get a small based on other purchasers (70% of people like me got small and 30% got medium), but honestly the extra small is a much better fit. I'd only go for the small if I was planning on wearing a ton more layers underneath this jacket, but this jacket is so warm that it would be silly to wear so many extra layers underneath for city/casual wear. Jacket is great for casual outings. I live in the Pacific Northwest and it's great for cold/rainy days walking the dogs out. Too heavy/bulky for outdoor winter recreational use in my opinion, but to each their own. The internal chest pocket is big enough for my pixel 3 xl. The only slight con I can think of is that the hand pockets aren't very deep/large. They're too small to fit gloved hands in comfortably. I'd recommend this jacket 10/10.

Fantastic casual winter jacket

Went upstate NY for a week, hot tub in 20 degree weather, when coming out would wipe my body and throw this coat on bare skin. Kept me very warm. Wear it on a tee shirt most days. Good coat, only the neck cover thingie stretches out over time.

Super Nice

He went from just wearing sweatshirts in the dead of winter to agreeing to wear this jacket. He loves it!! It's warm comfortable and most importantly, it's stylish. Great purchase!!

I use this jacket in Michigan, I bought it for the winter so I can walk my huskies. I walk them over ten miles a week and I must say grabbing this jacket just feels right warm, comfortable, lightweight, stylish. Awesome jacket! I would recommend to want one going into the cold climates, however that being said you can wear a t shirt and this jacket in about 35-40 and it's perfect for a walk. Colder then that I'd grab a light sweatshirt or a undergarment to keep warm. Yesterday I was on a hike and at 4 miles I was very hot the jackets inside was pretty wet especially from the rain, and it dried within a few hours.

Outstanding!

I bought this for my brother and loved that it fit true to size. He's wearing it to a trip in Lake Tahoe and this jacket will be his key piece as it keeps you warm without having to over-layer. It's made with super high quality fabric and I feel like he won't need another jacket for the cold weather/snow for a long, long time.

Perfect fit

6'1", around 200lbs. I lift weights a 3 times a week and have been on some sort of weight lifting program for the last 7 years. Just trying to give an idea for the sizing. I bought a medium and a large because of the reviews. I prefer tighter clothes and since this is a thick jacket, figured I'd try a medium. The medium fits my body perfectly. The sleeves might be just slightly too short if I am reaching for something, but overall it is a good fit. I didn't even try the large on because this felt right. I have tried medium jackets before and my shoulders and back were to big to do a hug movement. I did not have that problem with this one. The faux fur hood insert is a little floppy but overall I love it. Love it without the faux fur even more. Great looking jacket. I personally don't like big brands all over my clothes, but the North Face logo is black on the black part of the jacket. That looked better to me.

Fit is a little big for how I like to dress

I am 6' 2, 170, so fairly tall and thin with an athletic frame. I used the online sizing guide and specified a slimmer fit and it recommended a large. Maybe if I put on about 50 pounds it would be close to fitting. I look like a kid wearing his dad's coat in this thing. Obviously will be returning but not sure I will even try the medium. Usually the problem there is the arms and bottom are too short if the large is too big.

Not sure I agree with size guide

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this coat for my husband in the green color. The picture shows it is all one color but they sent me one that is color block. I called customer service to find out what happened and to arrange an exchange. I was informed that the coat posted online does not actually exist in that color. They don't make it at all and never have. This was several weeks ago and the coat that does not exist is still listed on the website. False advertising and inconvenient for me to have to call, and arrange a return.
