I bought this about a month ago. I have been using it to haul around two kayaks. It is a solidly build system that gives me absolutely no worries about whether it will work. It's an example of you get what you pay for - in this case - great quality and a great product.

Easy to use with one or two kayaks. My kayaks are around 40lbs each and I haven't had any issues. All the tie down straps have worked well.

Bought the EVO crossbars and double kayak carrier for our smaller travel car. We are empty nester so prefer not to be driving our SUV when not required. Have a number of other Thule products, ski box and bike carrier. They are built right and last. Wonderful to buy quality products that buck the ‘planned obsolescence' trend.

I bought this rack about a month ago. Used 3 times for 2-kayak carrying. It works very well but important to settle the kayaks and tighten very well.

Awesome product

We have used the Thule Compass many times and we love it. The only issue is that it does take a while to load and secure boats. Not a huge deal and should get better with practice.

Awesome product!

We have used this rack for 2 trips.  It does not lock, but is east to remove from the crossbar to be stowed inside the vehicle while we were camping.  The rack is compact so that we were ae to carry a kayak and a canoe on our trips.  After a 5 hour car ride, the vessels were still secure and stable.  Excellent product.

Simple and strong

Excellent system for the transport of 2 kayaks. Tested with 2 kayaks 10 Pelican, works very well. The kayaks remained stable during transport, even at over 100 km/h, without additional ropes at the front/rear of the vehicle. I recommend!

Very versatile! Ideal for 2 kayaks

If your car/SUV is high, as ours is, coupled with the wide beam of our kayaks, then the height of our kayak reached 10 feet (3 meters). We found this unmanageable so returned item (very easy through Thule). This could work for a lower roofed car and a less beamy kayak.

Could work in theory

I bought this to carry two kayaks as the description says.  I have 6 different Kayaks and the rack doesn't fit any of them properly as the directions and diagrams show.  The resting arm for the side of the kayak is 4 to 6 inches too short.  I'm not sure what size kayaks they tested or designed with but zero of my kayaks will stay on the arm.  They all jump off the arm during travel and end up hanging by the straps or resting on the cross bar.  It's difficult enough to get the kayak on the roof of my SUV without damage - but then I have to find and balance the edge of the kayak on a less than 1 inch area while trying to strap them on.
