Elk are arguably, just as, if not more, scent consious as a whitetail. 99% of the elk I've killed have been in a mountainous scenerio and anyone that has ever hunted in the mountains, knows that the only wind direction that you can count on, is the wrong one! The terrain and elevation causes the wind to change almost by the minute so having a can of Cow Elk Estrus handy to throw some 'smell good' into the wind has allowed us those few extra, crutial, yards that we needed to close the deal, on more than one occation!
