Friends have recommended the Tomy squeak eggs,  stating that their children/grandchildren find it fascinating.  I got one for my almost one-year-old grandson for Easter.

This was an Easter gift for my grandson.  My daughter-in-law called with rave reviews.  It is one of his favorite toys!

I bought this for a fifteen month old who loved it. He enjoyed 
Taking the eggs out of the carton and taking them apart then putting them all back. The color matching and shape matching were above his skills but will come later as he grows in to the toy.
I would definitely recommend this toy.

I don't know what it is about this simple toy but my 1 year old loves them. Must be a baby thing cause I don't get it lol.. She likes opening them up and hitting them together. She smiles every time she pushes the colorful egg down into the shell since it makes a clicking sound. Sometimes it's the simple, inexpensive toys that babies love most!.

These items are very cute but for little hands, it's very hard to make them squeak.

Let me start off by saying that the quality of this toy is excellent.  Young kids need action and noise to stay interested.  My granddaughter is 19 months old and was interested but not for long.  I think this would be perfect for around one year old kids.   There is no action except the action the child makes.  When you push the chicks down they make sounds.  Not quite enough to hold the attention of a 19 month old with older siblings with older toys.  The child does learn shapes when they try to put the eggs back into the carton as each egg has a different shape on the bottom that must fit into it's carton spot.  I bought the toy because my granddaughter loves to play with the plastic eggs left over from Easter into which you put candy and then hide them.  You can't do that with this toy.

Great One Year Old Child Learning Toy

My 9month old put the top piece of the egg in his mouth and it blocked his ability to breath. I had to stick my fingers down his throat to pry it loose. Thank God i was right there and seen it happen because he was gasping for air... dont even want to imagine if I had my back turned. Box says for 6m  but not safe!
