Setup process requires minimal effort and is straightforward.

The AC1750 came with 3 ways to set up, with the favored being to download an app and create an account, which is more work than needed, and not necessary.   So, I determined the easiest way to set things up, and provide the steps here, which come from the instructions:
1. I plugged the AC1750 into an outlet near my router, selected the wps (wi-fi protected setup button) on my router and let the two devices connect wirelessly.  I pushed the wps button twice, once for the 2.4GHz band, and one for the 5 GHz band.  I confirmed that four lights were lit on the AC1750: power, 1.4GHz, 5.0GHz. and the big, receiving a good signal, circle.
2.  Then I plugged the AC1750 into a outlet halfway between the router and my computer.
3.  On my computer, I disconnected from my wireless router, named MyHomeRouter.
4.  I searched for available networks, and selected MyHomeRouter_EXT (which was the AC1750).
5.  I entered the same SSDI password (the router Password) as I had used on MyHomeRouter.  The AC1750 had  extended my current network and it did not require me to create a new network or new password.  

Before I connected, I checked my upload and download speeds on speedtest.net and got less than 1 Mbps upload and less than 1 Mbps download.  After connecting to MyHomeRouter, I got approximately 90 Mbps upload and 10 download--both considered excellent speeds.

Easy Setup--if you use the wps button

Did not work when was within 20 feet of desktop modem, but worked great when was 40  feet away.  Changed the single from poor to great, no dropouts at 60 feet range.  Allows Ruku to work without any buffering or pixilating.  Do not use with any type of game box, only TV and desktop simple games, can not say what the speed is but does not seem to diminish.

It is amazing

set this up with a friend who knows a lot about these things. my previous extender was the dlink 1520. reading the reviews I expected this thing to have twice the range or more. I set it in the same spot the dlink was and it says no reception (the orange light stays on) I move it very close to the router and it finally connects and shows all blue lights. it is sporadic at best. it drops out many times during the day and I have to connect to a neighbors router from another house (I have permission) and it works as well as the tp link. I have read about ghost signals and stuff like that, maybe that's whats going on, I don't know why it has to be so complicated. maybe I just got a bad one? I'm going to return it if this persists. I might just put the old dlink back in.

After spending hours trying to set up, Zero Customer service, I returned it. It wasn't compatible with TMobile's New Wireless Internet system. Don't bother with either. TMobile once excellent customer service, now lagging. May go back to Cable.

i spent $63 with absolutely no results. @ least if i sat my $ on fire, i wld have felt some heat. wld not stay connected, c/s was no help. ended n having 2 call spectrum 4 an upgrade that cost me additional $. NOW WALMART %26 THE CO IS TELLING ME I HAVE 2 EAT THE COST!!!!
