Good purchase, after watching videos online I decided to purchase the tymo ring for my type 4c hair. It is easy to use and pickup was smooth. 
I find that sometimes the ends of my hair are harder to smooth in one pass since there is no clamp like a flat iron but going over the ends slowly work.

Good tool to have

I have very thick hair and cannot be bothered to straighten it cuz it takes forever. This made straightening my hair easy and fast!! My hair still had body so I would say it doesn't get as straight as a flat iron will so but it's straight and does the job!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Tymo ring forces you to work in layers  for good reason. The straightening comes from the comb holding the hair so it makes contact with the heating elements - it akrr seei allows tension over the elements that flat ID  ng do not. Also, with a flat iron i always had to  blow dry my hair first.  While that  ideal, I can swim laps, come home from the pool w my hair a mess of dry frizzy S curves, use the Tymo Ring and get it sleek and shiny and as straight as I want it to be.

Better than a high quality flat iron

If you're someone who wants to have tension and be able to control the tool you're using then this isn't for you. If you have very coarse think hair it may work for you but personally I have wavy fairly thick hair and the tool didn't work well for me. I couldn't seem to get each section to be even especially the areas with layers.
