Although I havent really had a chance to use my new lens yet, I am very excited to give it a try. I purchased the Tamron for my Nikon D750 because it got great reviews when compared to similar Sigma

I have a good feeling

I'm no expert and certainly not a pixel peeper, but my photos with this lens seem to be a bit sharper than photos with the first generation of this lens. But not so much that I am getting rid of my older lens. I'll just use the gen one version on my crop sensor D5600 and this G2 on my D810. I have been using the Tamron version of the Holy Trinity of zoom lenses for about 5 years now and am very happy with their quality. The G2 does seem to be an improvement though and a definite improvement in styling (which doesn't count for much in lens decision making in my opinion).

Second Generation Better Than First

The lens itself works great and seems to be authentic but it is not registerable at Tamron since it is a lens buy online at walmart.ca with only the international warranty (grey market), so it does not benefit from the full 7-year Canadian warranty pieces and labor.
