Is it exactly like the original? No. But, as a toy collector, I'm used to this with reissues. I would definitely like it if the glider was the one from the 1980s, but it's not. That doesn't ruin my enjoyment, though. It still looks great and the turtles attach to it nicely. The hanging tabs it shows on the box would definitely be nice to have, though. This thing is quite large and I don't know what I'm going to do with it.

My grandson loved it!!  A couple of things that maybe should have been better stated in the ad is that helium is not recommended, so you really want to have some method to hold it up, i.e. a balloon stick.  I would  also recommend that you have an air pump available to blow it up. The only thing I didn't find in the box that was stated in the ad, was the patches, fortunately haven't had a puncture yet.  I bought the TMNT separately from the blimp to ride on it and they stayed very nicely.

Excellent toy for your TMNT fans.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We all know if you have the turtle blimp you are the shizz. Been trying to find this for my son as a present forever. Finally snagged it, then had to buy more for the grown men in my family.  Just get it you cant go wrong with guys and this present.

the stuff

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As others have noted, the blimp did not come with the mounting support tabs with holes at the top to hang it from the ceiling for display. It is very odd, as this feature is pictured and advertised on the box. Regardless, it still brings about very nice nostalgia and a fun blast from the past.

No mounting support

An absolute rush of nostalgia (and totally made up for not having had this as as kid). Disappointed that the advertised mounting support (shown on the back of the box) isn't on the blimp at all... but should be an easy DIY fix so that I can still hang it up for display.

COWABUNGA

It did not come with the mounting supports that are supposed to be attached to the blimp (see pictures) so i cant mount this like i wanted to. I dont want to return because i dont know if the others will be the same. It does stand without tipping though so i guess thats ok. Make sure you put the attachments on before blowing it up. I made the mistake of blowing the blimp up first. Other than that the blimp looks really cool. Would look better if i could hang it with the action figures hanging from it.

Didnt come with mounting support

First off, its cool to have the classic looking blimp part. Wish they included the original glider with it. It looks better then the 2012 version.  I was also reading a lot of people with QC issues and mine isn't any different. My Blimp is missing the two little taps on top that allow you to hang it. There's also a very strong smell coming from the balloon that's still lingering after a week.

So this review is not great in two fold. One is that the box was crushed on one side. This was painful from a collectors point and made me open my first toy since I was 12 years old. I still have nightmares. I am joking. Looking at the box it shows that there are anchor points for me to hang.... There are none. They are clear and labeled on the back of the box. This is a two fold mess up. As a distributer and design of the product. I was going to get more collectables but now I am questioning Walmart as a distributer and Playmates for their products.

I bought this for my husband with the intention of hanging it from the ceiling by the mounting support, which according to the box it had. However once he blew it up he realized it does not have.

No way to mount

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the item, but the picture shows hanging hooks on top of the blimp that aren't actually there which then required me to tamper with it and buy my own hooks and adhesive to figure out a way to hang it myself which ruins the otherwise coolness of the item. It was a little disappointing.
