Pay attention to warnings about not touching anything but the handle while cooking.  Multiple warnings not to latch the lid when cooking are good advice.  I'm a single, 73 year old man who doesn't cook anything at all and I love my microwave. I visit my elderly mother often and she likes to use her 5-Minute Chef to prepare salmon fillets for supper.  She's been using this cooker for over five years so finally I got the bright idea to get one myself.  Bout time!  I cooked a salmon fillet in about 12 minutes and it was just like mom does it.  It's heating when the red light is on and ready for food to cook when the green light is on.  It heats up very fast so resist the temptation to touch it to see if it's getting hot, it IS.  It's easy cleanup too just wipe with a paper towel and done but make sure it's cool before you do that!  I set the cooker on a couple of small silicone trivets to make sure not to delaminate my formica countertop.  The silicone spatula that comes with the cooker is too flexible to lift the fillet so I had to carefully use a metal fork to maneuver it out of the cooker.  Do your best not to scratch the non-stick coating.  If you are cooking an oily item it will oil itself but the instructions mention that using oil is optional.  I didn't use any oil to cook the salmon fillet.  I've lived a long time without it so I know I can live without it but it's an excellent addition to my microwave and I'd buy one again in a heartbeat if anything happens to it.

This may be the best item I have added to my kitchen in years.  I am able to prepare anything in the Red Copper 5 Minute Chef and have it come out perfectly.  And clean up is a snap!  I think this is a wonderful shower gift to a new bride as well as for anyone who likes to eat but does not enjoy spending a lot of time cooking.

This little gem cooks anything so quickly! I use it everyday..omelets, chicken, stir fry, I bought one for all of my family members.

You have to have this!

It is on my counter next to the toaster and is used almost every day--I'm a big fan of eggs and this is so easy and virtually no cleanup.  I bought one for my daughter--her children liked using mine.

When this first came out I fell in love with it it is so easy to use and quick cooking  shortly after I bought a backup the first one finally wore out so I had to use my back up one and ordered the new one so I will always have one great product

Does just what they claim it does. Made an omelet and a cherry pie. Tasted just like I did it the regular way only it was faster, and doesn't stick. I recommend it to all my friends. I do believe your College students should have one in their dorm room.

Red Copper Express

I live alone & hate to dirty multiple pans to cook a meal. Now I don't have to. The 5-Minute Chef works beautifully!  
   My first meal in it was some frozen Schwan's grilled chicken and frozen peas & carrots. In about 6 minutes it was done, juicy & delicious!
   Although it's easy to wipe clean, I do wish the copper plates were removable for a proper cleaning. But I'd still buy another one if I had a place to put it.

LOVE This Thing

I got it thinking it would be handy when I travel in my RV. It does work well but when cooking meats the natural juices will run over and make a mess. It is a little difficult to clean when this happens.  Cooks eggs great and good for heating leftover pizza.  I will use it more as I figure out more uses.

Purchased for RV use.

This is an amazing item for quick burgers, grill cheese sandwiches and warning up small leftovers. I recommend the manufactures place an auto-off timer on the Red Copper Express Non-Stick Cooker before someone leaves it on accidentally and burn their home down. Item not recommend for irresponsible buyers.

Just ☝ one thing!

I've used my 5-Minute Chef for about a week, and overall, I'm pleased with it. A couple of noteworthy items for those of you thinking of buying one. 1. Be sure the unit is "latched" when you close it. I had one instance where I thought the unit was latched but it wasn't completely latched, so that 2-minutes into cooking, the top popped up (scared the ingredients out of me!). So be sure to latch your 5-minute Chef. 2. Try to avoid using butter and oil, it can create a mess that gets into crevices of the two halves of the grill. Since the 5-minute Chef cannot be immersed in water or put it in a dishwasher, you'll want to minimize clean-up. 3. The 5-minute Chef does not come with a timer, so when it is plugged in, it remains "On." So, to ensure that I do not overcook my food, I use an egg timer. Since most foods you will prepare, will cook in 4-5 minutes, setting a timer for 2-2 1/2 minutes per side, is ideal. Then you simply flip the 5-minute Chef, reset your egg timer for another 2-2 1/2 minutes and at the end of that time, check your food. If your food appears done or you check your food with a thermometer and the reading is right for whatever you cooked, then you unplug the 5-minute Chef and let is cool. I allow about an hour before attempting clean it. Be careful when removing food from the 5-minute Chef. Hold a plate next to the "Chef" and slide it from the grill onto the plate using the spatula that comes with the 5-minute Chef. Doing this will minimize the chances of burning your hands. Remember, the grills will be VERY HOT! And that's it. Those are my observations about the 5-minute Chef. I think you will like one as well. It's ideal for those quick meals or snacks. Enjoy your 5-minute Chef!

Fast, Simple Cooking in Minutes

Loved the idea but it kept spitting out eggs from the side and sounded like it was going to explode. I thought I over filled it but i used one egg and it happened too. I had to return it ☹️
