<p>Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2003 im Fachbereich Sozialpädagogik / Sozialarbeit, Note: Sehr gut, Fachhochschule Düsseldorf, Veranstaltung: Grundstudium Soziologie, 9 Quellen im Literaturverzeichnis, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: "Sandmännchen auf Ecstasy", so eine Aussage des Spiegels Mitte/Ende 1990 - "Teddy-Potential" nannte ein Medienwissenschaftler die Teletubbies (1999).<br></br>Jede Entwicklungsphase, jedes Medium war etwas Neues: Theater, Zeitung, später Schallplatte und Internet. Jedes Medium löste Diskussionen über das Für-und-Wider aus: Ist dieses Medium schädlich oder pädagogisch wertvoll? <br></br>Die größten Diskussionen wurden wahrscheinlich durch das Medium Film ausgelöst. Der Film wurde für noch gefährlicher und einflussreicher gehalten als das Medium Schrift. "Die flüchtigen Filme dagegen sind sinn- und seelenlos, weil sie sich immerfort selbst aufheben" (Zitat). Dies ist eine Aussage, die Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts getroffen wurde - der Beginn der Filmgeschichte und des Freilichttheaters (Kino). Die Debatten um Film und Fernsehen beschäftigen gestern wie heute die Bevölkerung. Gerade ihre Wirkung auf Kinder und Jugendliche steht im Fokus der Betrachtung.<br></br>Die zweite Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts wird dominiert durch das Fernsehen und seine stetige Entwicklung. Die Anzahl der Sender steigt und damit das Angebot an Sendungen. Kinder und Jugendliche nutzen Medien, insbesondere das Fernsehen mit einer großen Selbstverständlichkeit und beziehen aus ihnen einen Teil ihrer Erfahrungen - Medien gehören zum Alltag der Kinder und Jugendlichen. "Kind zu sein und Kindheit zu erleben ist kein gleichbleibender Prozess, sondern einer, der sich ständig ändert. Jede Kindheit wird geprägt von der Zeit, in der sie gelebt wird" (Näger 1992, S. 9).<br></br>Mitte der neunziger Jahre des 20. Jahrhunderts wurde die Kinderserie "Teletubbies" in Großbritannien entwickelt. "Sandmännchen auf Ecstasy" oder "Teddy-Potential"? Was bewirkt die Serie? Welchen Einfluss hat die Sendung auf Kinder und Jugendliche? Schadet sie und hemmt sie die Entwicklung von Kindern? Oder fördert sie Kleinkinder? Diese Fragen beschäftigen Eltern und Wissenschaftler gleichermaßen.</p>
