In my opinion, this brand makes the flakiest crusts and is super easy to use and turns out wonderful every time I've used it. Follow their directions on the package for making your pie or tart crusts.

Lard is hard to find since we've been told to use “seed oils”. The seed oils are bad fats and lard is good for us and fits really well with a carnivore diet.

Tenderflake makes the very best pie crust and the recipe is on the box. Been using it for over 45 years. Wouldn't use any other.

Never a problem, but I preferred it when it had only one ingredient: lard. 
No, it has more ingredients and is, therefore, the same product ingredient list as the other brand name versions.

I do wish there was an option for pure lard that didn't have harmful chemicals in it… you know, without harvesting it myself, which would be a lot more expensive.

This lard does the job. I haven't used it for pie, but I've used it for frying up chips (British style fries, I mean), and various meats. It does the job nicely and is healthier (aside from those aforementioned chemicals) than its vegetable and seed oil counterparts. Plus it makes the chips taste like real restaurant quality. Really nice.
