Temperature Control

Value For Money

Offers lower cost compared to similar products.

Small enough to fit in a 10-gallon aquarium.

Good

Using in a 5 gallon tank, first one lasted 8 years before quitting. Now on my second. Beats the larger old fashioned units that had to be adjusted and watched for accidental setting changes. No need to play around with controls it automatically keeps the water at the little ones favorite temperature. Excellent unit

50 watt heater

I bought this heater about 3 years ago (that's right 3years) from my local Walmart and it just keeps working perfectly never had any issues (it gets hot in the summer so I turn it off on really hot days it has a plug people use it) so after hearing all these bad reviews I must say ? How are you using it ? Are you just dissing a cheap product ? Because ever since this first Tetra it's all I've ever gotten unless it's unavailable for said tank size. But have one in my 20 gallon right now (the one for 20-whatever) and it works amazing so thank you tetra for makeing an amazing heater !!!

Amazing heater

I bought this item 3 or 4 months ago for my 5 gallons. Works very well. The temperature is also maintained well. Be careful not to install it on the corner of the aquarium to avoid any accidents with your fish (my snail had been stuck), like any water heater for that matter.

All right.

Took a chance as there are some bad reviews. Plugged it in and it holds a perfect 78 degrees exactly as advertised. Like the size in the 10 gallon aquarium, small little heater that doesn't take up much room... barely notice it.

Works as advertised

I have it for a month and it is keeping my 5 gallon tank at 79 degree which is good for my Betta. There is no temperature adjustment. It starts up and switch off automatically at 79. I don't know if it will be efficient for bigger tanks.

Good price

Bought this for the 1.5 gallon Tetra aquarium. It keeps the water at 79F according to my thermometer. Attaches to the inside of the tank with a suction cup. My only concern is that I don't like the idea of the power chord going straight from the wall into the water.

Works so far

The thermometer mentions keeping the water temperature at 25.5 degrees Celsius. In my 5 gallons, it keeps the water at 26.3 degrees Celsius, which is too high! I don't know if it was in a 10 gallon.

Does not keep to the intended temperature

[Employee of walmartcanada] I am a Beta Fish owner and I tried this product recently, it says it'll automatically bring your tank temp. levels to 78 Fahrenheit (perfect temp. for tropical fish) but it only brought mine up to 60 Fahrenheit! Which is way too cold for my Beta fish!

Horrible Heater!

Bought one for my 5 gallon desk tank and it only kept the tank at 78F for about 4 days. Save yourself the hassle and buy a more expensive one that will last.

Don't buy this heater

Tetra HT Submersible Aquarium Heater, 50 Watts — front-facing compact cylindrical heater; built-in electronic thermostat maintains approximately 78°F (25.5°C).
