[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've only begun working through this text but, as far as I can tell, it is the best textbook for self-learners. Not only is the book very thorough, beginning with resistors and ending with microcontrollers, there is both an accompanying website and lab manual. Lots of students use this text so it's generally easy to find worked solutions to the exercises online. The book is also very readable though quite dense.
