“The Boyfriend” is yet another Freida McFadden novel you simply cannot put down. Let me warn you now: if you've never read this author before, clear the next 24 to 48 hours of your life because once you start, that's it. And if you have read her novels, then you already know. The quick chapters keep the story moving, and she plays with your mind until you're convinced you've figured out the “who done it.” Then bam,  she throws in something you never saw coming. Never even considered. She lays it all out like a perfectly assembled puzzle, wrapped up neatly and oh‑so‑satisfyingly. I absolutely love this author. There's only one book of hers I started and didn't immediately click with, but I'm glad I didn't pass it on because I plan to revisit it. I may have been in a different headspace at the time, having just been released from the hospital. Every other one of her many novels has thrilled me. Normally, I hesitate to spend money on paperback novels when I can wait a bit and borrow them from the library or grab them on Kindle for a small fee. But with this author, I make sure to get her books the day they're released. And to be honest, I rearrange my life around them. Phone off. Texts ignored. Doorbell? Didn't hear it. I'm busy. Her books are available in multiple languages, and if they're not available where you live, request them from your local library, they usually accommodate. One more thing: I can't stand when I read a novel and find errors — story flaws, grammar issues, spelling mistakes. If I catch them, the editor didn't do their job. Especially now, with AI tools available, there's no excuse. But the editors of Ms. McFadden's work are flawless. The writing is sharp and clean. You never feel like an English professor grading freshman papers. These are witty, fast‑paced, well‑written books that deserve praise from start to finish.

I loved this. I usually guessing who it could be beforehand, but I honestly didn't know, and I'm almost done.   It's funny, suspenseful, it was 
 absolutely my all-time favorites. I went immediately and brought and brought 2 more by Frieeda McFadden. Awesome, work.

Don't need to read the story to know it's GOOD. Just the description is enough for me. I read the first couple chapters as soon as I got it and am HOOKED!

Absolutely loved this book. It had twist that were unexpected. Love the way she paints the picture for her readers.
