My daughter checked out this book from her school library but didn't get to finish reading it. She was so impressed with the story and art, as was I, that she asked me to purchase the book for her. Walmart had this book available at a much lower price than the national book chains so purchasing the book was a no-brainer. Now my daughter can read and enjoy this book anytime she wants. This was a great buy!

Wonderful Reading

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an excellent book

This story is told like a movie. I love the 150 pages of pictures. It is very imaginative. I'm fascinated by the author's creativity. A truly intriguing book. This would be a good chapter book for struggling readers because the pictures help to tell the story and with so many pictures you move through the story quickly.

Great story for all ages

Great

The invention of Hugo Cabret is a big book full of pictures and words that describe his life. He could be the most amazing guy in the world if he wanted to.He can fix anything from a small toy mouse to a ginormous robot.
 	His dad is an engineer and works at a clock shop. Then one night his boss locked him  in the store without knowing he was in there. A fire started and he was trapped inside. Hugo stayed up all night waiting for his dad to come home. That's when his uncle came and got him and told him that his dad had died so he took him to the train station to help him with the clock's. After his uncle went out one night to drink and never came back so he had nobody to help him keep the clocks going. 
What will he do? You can find out at your public library or  bookstore. This would be the most awesome book you have ever read in your life.

My 10 year old son wanted this book. In looking around - Wal-Mart had the best price by far. I would recommend this to any parent as a perfect book to get a child to read.

A book to love

I was looking for a new book for my 10 year old to read. He already read all of the Wimpy Kid books. I was watching the news one morning and saw kids talking about the book club they are in and how they recommended this book for kids ages 9-14. I bought this book the next week and my son loves it. Its kind of hard kepping him interested in books. You have to find just the right one. Well this was the right one. Its a real page turner and he loves it and said he plans on reading it twice.

Great Book

My almost 10 year old grandson was so happy to get this book. I read it
before I gave it to him and thoroughly enjoyed it. This is a great children's
book with beautiful drawings. The cool thing about this book is that you have
to "read" each page of drawings as well as the text. The drawings are an integral
part of the story.

Excellent Children's Book!

This book came in excellent shape.This book was great! I have an 8 year old who loves to read but would look at a book and if it was too big or too thick he didn't think he could read it. The book is 544 pages long. This is a big book with maybe under 200 pages to read the rest is pictures which tell about the story. He felt great reading it, it made him feel like a Jr. high student. His friends couldn't believe he could read such a book. It gave him the little confident he needed to go to the next level. Now he will pick out any book no mater what size.
