The picture quality of the remastered disc's is actually so impressive!! Any real lotr fan knows you need extended-- these are worth every penny!

I'm glad I got the extended version. I liked it so much better.  A lot of things make sense now.. the story flows now.

The plastic inserts are cheap and it's not decorated at all but so for the price whatever . Still worth it.

This is one of the best series of movies ever made.  I was concerned about the packaging (since the purchase was “sight unseen”) but it was perfect.  There are three extended versions of the movies along with all the extra material.  I believe there are 17 disks in all.
