[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Typical British murder mystery. I'm not much of a reader and I enjoyed the story.

Robert Thorogood delivers a fun murder mystery with “The Marlow Murder Club.”

When the plucky and eccentric Judith Potts' neighbor, Stefan Dunwoody, is murdered, she joins forces with two new friends to solve his murder — tough dog walker Suzie  and the vicar's wife Becks.

But when two more murders happen in their sleepy little village of Marlow, the trio must “help” Detective Sergeant Tanika Malik and figure out the connection between the three victims and who would want to murder them.

What follows is a delightfully quirky mystery with lots of laughs but also plenty of suspenseful moments that will leave readers guessing until the very end.

Thorogood does a great job of weaving together the tales of three murders, all while developing some clever characters, including Judith who is like a modern day Jane Marple or Jessica Fletcher from Murder She Wrote.

Fans of Agatha Christie, Richard Osmond's Thursday Murder Club series, and even Alfred Hitchcock will love “The Marlow Murder Club,” which is due out May 3. I know I hope to see more hijinks from Judith, Suzie and Becks!

One warning: this book does contain the occasional curse word.
