Overall quality looks good but it only has 1 layer, the interior color is just a print on the back of the outter layer. But I'm confident as it The North Face brand.

I would recommend it, looks good, wear good.

It doesn't really provide any warmth beyond being a de facto wind breaker, but otherwise gets the job done and since like most TNF coats they run big, there's plenty of room for a sweatshirt underneath even if you order a size down.

light and waterproof

This jacket is great for daily wear, good in the low 40's as a stand alone and is perfect as a shell,. Fits perfect, functions well . There's two stash pockets on the inside of this shell whick is super handy..I have the bionic model as well but I love this model. Looks great! Love it! Thank you TNF!!

Great Shell and rain jacket!

Jacket looks nice and gets the job done. I work where there is a wind tunnel and this jacket definitely keeps the wind out. I have not worn this during hard rain but in light drizzle it works well. I am 5'5" with an athletic build and a size small fit my torso well but sleeves were a tad long. Velcro cuffs help compensate for the sleeve length though.

Great for wind and rain

I purchased this jacket for a water resistant outer layer for spring and fall hikes. Wore on a recent trip to the mountains this summer and it worked great, not just with wet weather, but also for the evening time when the temperatures dropped. It was not cold enough for a fleece but I still needed something to keep the chill off. This jacket was great for that. In the rain, I had no issues with the jacket.

Great jacket

I like that the cuffs are adjustable so I can really tighten them up to keep out the rain when it's coming down hard. I would recommend this jacket to others looking for something portable for hiking or travel.

Rain Jacket IN MY POCKET!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The jacket is pretty straight forward- rain jacket and says its windproof too- has pit zips. It does not breathe very well when doing heavy exercise...but not many rain jackets do. The last one of these I had delaminated after several years. Does keep rain off.

Ok rain jacket for the price

This jacket was selected as a warranty item for a similar North Face jacket that was damaged and covered under the company's lifetime warranty. Since my previous jacket was no longer available, I selected what I thought was closest to my old jacket that I liked a lot. This one fits a little bigger. I'm usually between M & L sizes and the L (large) is plenty big to wear layers underneath. I would have liked a little tighter fit but decided to go keep the L. So far I like the jacket a lot.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This one of several North Face rain jackets I own and was purchased to keep in my daypack (or backpack for overnights). Fits fine in a Men's large and I'm 5' 7" 175lbs. I bought this to replace another TNF rain jacket that didn't have pit zips or a fully adjustable hood. The adjustment in the back is the one that keeps the front of the hood from dropping down over your eyes and is a MUST. (If you wanna see where you're going!) I've worn this 4-5 times and it's a great windbreaker shell and kept me protected from light rain however, even with the pit zips and having the front partially unzipped I was soaked from sweat. Same thing each time I've worn it so, breathable??? Not so much. This is hiking 5-10 miles up and down hills with a 20 lb pack with my Golden Retrievers. Takes a good while to dry, too. It's very light and takes up very little space in my pack, which is a plus. I have a lot of gear (Sleeping bags, tents, jackets, clothes, etc) and LOVE most of my TNF gear and their lifetime warranty.

Well, it's my favorite color!

This jacket has some nice features, but overall I'm not a fan and sent it back despite really wanting to keep it. If you look at the other jackets on this site, the common thread is the sleeves are way too long and this holds true here. I'm not sure what sort of body NorthFace is modeling its arm length on, but it doesn't seem to be mere mortals like me. The chest fit my stocky frame nicely, but the sleeves are so long that it's difficult to cinch the wrist tight enough to keep water out. Also not that breathable, felt a good bit like a sauna fairly quickly. Nice cosmetically, bonus that it's packable, but just not good enough.

Not very breathable, sleeves TOO LONG!

I own other amazing Nort Face products but this particular item isn't not up to par with the usual quality's ofthe brand. I used this item twice in Thebes rain and both times it failed to protect against the rain. When I took it off my shoulders were wet indication that the product isn't actually waterproof/fault in the craftsmanship of the product.
