Was looking for a tent to replace a 15 year old tent . Needed specific dimensions (60" x 90"), breathable & lightweight. Use for backpacking, car camping & expedition river trips. Tent is a two person setup due to the metal tent stakes. Once set up it is very sturdy. Rain fly has Velcro tabs to hold to tent stakes. Plan on using this for many years on many adventures.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use this tent in winter mountainous terrain. High winds, deep snow and unexpected weather changes. It's Quick and easy setup and provides security when the conditions push back on you. Not ultra light by any means but really not bad when in a two person team but I also will and have packed it solo. We usually split it up and end up with an individual weight of about 4 lbs. the gear vestibule is large enough to hold the majority if not all of your gear and have room to spare. You have to invest in gear that you trust, I trust this tent and it hasn't let me down.

Great Product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is by far my favorite tent for the extremes. It's rugged and weatherproof. It is on the heavy side, so something to consider when packing up for a trip. I'm perfectly content with the weight, because I understand what the trade off is. My primary use for this tent is winter backpacking and expedition trips to areas with harsh cold climates.

Would buy again

I purchased the Mountain 25 for backpacking and hunting. The weight isn't an issue for me. I'm 49 years young and in great shape so, no issues there. The tent is very spacious for one person and comfortable for two. This is NOT your average summer tent. This tent was built for cold weather; however, you can use it during the summer months just without the rain fly and you should be fine. I've been using the Storm Break 3 for years and yes, even during the fall and winter. So, last year in November 2019, I decided to just buy the tent I've been wanting for the past five years and I'm very excited about it. I'll be posting pictures here soon.

SOLID BUILT AND SUPER RELIABLE!!!

I am a huge fan of North Face products, the company has high standards and it shows. I live in Nova Scotia and the weather can be quite unpredictable at times. I am also a cold sleeper, so its -40c sleeping bag a good 4 season tent. The Mountain 25 retains heat extremely well and has great ventilation with vents in the doors and in the ceiling. I was in a Mountain 25 during a hurricane in 2019 and prior to the storm I ensured that the tent was properly staked out and after 8 hours of strong winds and rain, I was still dry and warm. Hurricane proof and ready for the next adventure. Highly recommend the tent!

A Quality Tent Designed for Extreme Conditions

I have used this tent on several occasions. During a hurricane, i left florida and camped in south carolina. That night hurricane louise reached me that night. Slept thru it, I had that much confidents in this tent. Set up takes some time due to the fact that i am doing it alone. I am also trying to be careful not to damage it when putting the poles in. The hardest part is when the poles are in the sleeves. Getting the tent pole up and correct is the caution part. I had only one time water was a problem. During a heavy rain, it leaked in the vestibule zipper 3" above the ground. The inside spaces are huge to me for a two person tent. I am 5'8" and sit up nicely and move around quite easily. I used the north face mummy bag Cats Meow. Slept in freezing weather no problems. I have bought these items because I trust the brand and have seen the top quality work they have done. Come on,you have ten pockets. ( compared to having 2 in a different brand that cost much more )

Just as expected

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use this tent to camp with my Boy Scout troop in the mid west during the winter. Specifically Eastern and Central Nebraska, Western Iowa, and parts of Southern South Dakota. This tent is fabulous in all winter conditions. From 4 inches of wet, slushy type snow to 10F plus 30 mph average winds on the Great Plains, this tent has handled it all. It is a bit heavy for trekking in my opinion but of split between two packs. Its more than manageable. It is easy to set up with two people and more than possible with just one person if your used to setting up tents alone. My one con is that the tent doesn't come with enough stakes to stake down every tension line plus all of the ground loops on the bottom of the tent. You need to buy a few extra stakes to complete the set. This isn't a deal breaker as there are more than enough stakes to keep the tent stable in all conditions while missing those few, but it is annoying. That being said I also enjoy the included footprint and snow/sand anchors. Over all when I finally manage to put enough wear to retire my current tent. I will be buying a new one to replace it.

Perfect for Winter Camping.
