I did a good amount of research and waited a long time before purchasing this softshell jacket, and I love it. A great fit for me (5'7", 140, size M). I especially like the zippered breast pocket on the outside of the jacket because I don't have to unzip the jacket to get to my phone. Also, as a horse owner, I appreciate the fact that hay doesn't stick to this jacket but slides right off.

Living in Wisconsin it's actually my most used jacket because it's great for Spring and Fall. It packs well for travel and waterproof enough for a light sprinkle. My only down side is they no longer carry in the store to try on.

It was lightweight enough for easy packing, but really kept me warm and dry as no other jacket I've owned. I encountered a range of warm, rainy, cold and blustery weather while there so a versatile jacket was a must. It will be a staple in my wardrobe for wet, windy and/or cold weather. A great buy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had to send this one back also. Too small across the shoulders and the arms, otherwise the rest of it fit. You don't make them to fit farm girls. You make these for slim to average size ladies you don't think of larger ladies that has broad shoulders and big arms. And no the plus size will not fit at all. It would be way big and baggy. I'm having a very hard time trying to find a combination of a rain jacket that is lined so it will keep you warm during those raw windy raining days, a wind breaker that keeps you warm and protect you from the wind and keeps the rain from penatrating into your body.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this after getting my husband the men's Apex bionic jacket last year. I love the old material... These new stuff isn't as smooth, it's move of a rough canvas feel. The older material seems stretchier/more agile for sports and movement than this new material does. It fits well, I definitely sized up though so I could layer under, I normally wear a medium in most jackets with hoodies or long sleeves, but with a tee-shirt this was tight so I went with large and now I'm completely comfortable. It's also more ivory than white, especially against snow. I don't mind either way but the color should be named better or represented better in photos. Lastly I'm already having trouble with the zipper after having it 2 weeks. My husbands jacket has a similar issue as well with the zipper. I also wish it ther was an inside pocket for my wallet, but that's just personal preference.

Nice but wouldn't buy again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the second Apex Bionic jacket I've purchased. I'm not sure what happened but the quality has gone downhill. They've replaced the embroidered stitches that says The North Face with some sort of iron-on patch. Cheep looking! Also the inner cuff that that kept the wind ( or snow) from going up my arm is gone. Lastly, the inner pockets arm gone! Do better instead of looking for trying to cut corners. It's not a good look for a company.

More expensive for less quality

No princess seaming down the front or back anymore. The North Face logo isn't embroidered anymore . I was disappointed when I received the jacket but am keeping it because I was desperately needing a jacket .

I would not buy this particular style again

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got his as a replacement for my 9 year old APEX jacket. The color of the logo is not the same as pictured on the photo, it is actually an iron on, and the cut is not the same as my old jacket. Feels like a box. The smell of an impregnation coating was way too much. Sadly I had to return and I am going back to my 9 year old jacket.

Not the same product

I am so disappointed in North Face. Their size discrimination is evident. I work out regularly and have lost a good deal of weight however their selection for plus sizes is a joke. The stores and outlets don't carry them in stock and when I ordered the larger size online, the sleeves were so long but the the rest of the jacket was snug. I returned the online item at a store and asked why they didn't carry any plus sizes. The reply was "I think because we just don't have the room,". I looked around and this store was huge. I will not be shopping North Face any longer as it is evident that you are very size discriminatory.

Plus size to North Face just means longer arms

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Let me say I have already returned this jacket! I already own a North Face apex jacket that I love and wear all the time. It is so soft and flexible and comfortable. The one I love is black but the gray one was the worst! It was so stiff and uncomfortable but I ordered a new one in black and it's still somewhat stiff but not as bad! I really wish I knew why these jackets can be so completely different even the new black one I ordered and kept!
