[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love the Ranger's Apprentice series and would recommend this for tweens and teens. It's a great book for moms and kids to read together and they have wonderful lessons of loyalty, friendship and working hard to achieve.

If you like stories like Lord of the Rings & such then you will like this book. The 1st night that I had it I got so into it that I had read 12 chapters without knowing. It is directed for teens, but as an adult with 5 kids I am enjoying this book greatly.

An enjoyable read

I love this series by John Flanagan.  He has created a world that is exciting and replete with action.  This is a wonderful book full of adventures, humor, a little romance, kings, battles and good vs. evil. There are both strong female leads as well as male. When I worked as a Middle school librarian I would recommend this book to any and all students.  It was always a hit, inevitably my students would come back for the next book in the series and then the book after that one.  There are 10 books plus in this series.  You become swept up in this beautiful story that both girls and boys will enjoy.  I would give this book the highest recommendation as a great fun read.

Ruins of Gorlan- Ranger's Apprentice

this book is an amazing start to a new, original series. I loved it, and the sequels are also great!
