[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great graphics and map designs. This is a Dark Souls kind of game. Very fun. Kinda gives you a Doom levels feel, but the combat challenging and is up close. Bosses are pretty hard. Definitely worth playing. Fun to level up your weapons and mecha type suit you fight in.  Not a very long game. Good price.

The surge is a single player hardcore rpg similar to dark souls, but with a sci-fi theme.

It's not a perfect game, but not a bad one either.

The controls or dynamics of the game are slightly tricky to learn at the beginning. The main problem I have with this game is how every time you die you lose all of the possessions that you gained from the last time you were in the med lab. And, if you decide to go back to the med lab after gaining things and healing yourself to the point where you think you need to be in the medlab the next time that you go back out there everything that you have killed has respawned. I ran into an impossible battle with some mech thing that was like 20 times the size of my character and I found no way to beat that thing... There may be one, but it was not obvious and once I get into that specific arena with that thing I cannot exit. I'm done with this game. Make up your own mind if you want to get it or not.
