Once upon a time... in the far away kingdom of Dor... lived a brave and virtuous mouse with comically oversized ears who dreamt of becoming a knight. Banished from his home for having such lofty ambitions, Despereaux sets off on an amazing adventure with his good-hearted rat friend Roscuro, who leads him, at long last, on a very noble quest to rescue an endangered princess and save an entire kingdom from darkness. Based on the heartwarming children's bestselling book and featuring the voice talents of an all-star cast, "The Tale Of Despereaux" is a magical, modern fairytale that's destined to win the hearts of young and old alike

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very cute movie nothing like the book of course. Less dark and eery from the books version. Must have for all kids.

Awesome movie

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] the kids play it over and over again wow.

Use Wal *mart.com price is great.

I bought this movie as a present for a sweet 3 yr old who has luekemia for a second time. We wanted a movie about being brave as a birthday present.I was very happy with the purchase being sent to her on time and that it was in great shape.

super happy

My kids love this movie they keep watching it over and over again!!!!

it was a good film with excellent animation and a clean dialog. my little niece and nephew love it it's there favorite.

awsome family film

I took my 3 year old grandson and i think i enjoy it more than he did. we are going to buy the dvd and look at it over and over and say "I am a gentleman"

This movie was definately worthwhile waiting for to come out on dvd. Compared to other movies of this nature, The Tale Of Despereaux is more or less average. The story line isn't new. The art and graphics are good. It's a great movie for families with young children or for those of us in the older generation who like to get away from the reality of every day life. Definately a movie to watch.

For the kid at heart

a classis movie with morals. better for 3 years and up. my 2 yr.old saw previews and wanted it but it was too long and detailed for him, it'll be good for him to watch when he can understand the lessons. It is an older movie so not a whole lot of singing and fast pace actions like the newer disney movies.

an old classic

The Tale Of Despereaux DVD cover featuring a mouse with oversized ears dressed as a knight holding a sword on a red platform, with a green landscape, castle, and ocean in the background, surrounded by animated characters including a king with a crown and a princess.
