This series is one of the best ever made, in my opinion. The quality of the picture and sound is great. The dvds are a little difficult to get in and out of the sleeves within the package. It does make me long for integrity and accountability in the White House,  though.

I've wanted to buy this set for a long while but I held out hope the price would come down, and it did! Believe it or not I haven't seen one episode yet. I never watched it when it was on TV because at the time it didn't appeal to me, but it does now. It'll be comforting to watch a show based in the White House where things were more normal than today!

This series brought me again to tears.  It's so timely.  Gave me hope.

West Wing

For me, well worth the purchase... wonderful box set that I will value for years to come. Not having to depend on finding (and paying) for a streaming source makes it well worth the purchase. In addition, sharing the series, with my grown children has been wonderful - humor mixed with seeing how U.S. government works.

Better Than Expected

Delivery was on time and perfect. No damage or other difficulty. My only recommendation to other buyers is to be aware that delivery times can vary, based on vendor and to take advantage of free delivery - it's not hard to find $35 worth of goods to order.

I really enjoy the series and wanted my own copy.  So far, all DVD's have played with no problems.  Good quality.  Packaging is a little strange, i.e., you have to play DVD %232 before you can put DVD %231 back in the case, play DVD 4 before you can put DVD 3 away, etc.

Good Quality, Strange Packaging

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm one of a few people who never watched The West Wing on TV and after so many years,  I wasn't certain I would take to it or see it through over its 9 seasons.  Now, I can hardly wait for the next episode!   The 1st episode contained what I felt as too much information and yet not enough to form an opinion.  By the 3rd disc, I was beginning to get hooked.  The busy agenda they'd used for that 1st program was simply to familiarize you somewhat with the main characters. I didn't realize it then but it was actually a stroke of genius  to begin that way.  I'd never realized what a ultra-busy place the White House is.  After that 1st episode, each of the main characters begins to take form and leave an impression on you that grows with each segment and those who star in what has became a masterpiece in TV-land, is worth their weight in gold.  As soon as you think you have someone "pegged" the story broadens and shows you an aspect you hadn't yet seen or begun to realize.  This is like beginning new relationships with those you feel akin to and it takes time to get to know them fully.  I now understand the success of this show and give it  high marks in every area.  I'd say, DON'T MISS IT and if you've seen it, see it again.

A Series Well Worth Seeing %26 Having

This was a present, so I really can't  say anything about the story except it is not my thing.

The value for money was brought down by the quality and picture.  It was very grainy, almost like watching an old 1980's VHS tape.

Pass on this and look for an enhanced version.

We have enjoyed watching the series, but due to the way the discs are stored in the container, Disc 4 is scratched and won’t play in our DVD player. We are missing 4 episodes in the middle of Season 1 after getting hooked on the plot! We hope that as we go, there aren’t more scratched discs.
