I recently purchased  Thermacell Tick control tubes for the third year now.We are very satisfied with the results and need to apply both spring and fall.I have 2 long hair dogs that need freedom outdoors .These tubes do work as far as tuck control can.My yard is surrounded by acres of wooded area!!!

This spring we have yet to find ticks on ourselves or our kids while our neighbors have had many, many ticks to remove and dispose of. We started using Tick Control Tubes a couple of years ago as we have a number of different rodents around the area and it has worked really well. Be patient and ahead of the tick life cycle and it will pay off.

Very happy with how well it works.

We live in a highly tick infested region.  Next month I will place our Thermacell “tick tubes” around our property.  Though we remain vigilant and practice all the recommended tick caution procedures, we are thankful that we have the added confidence that the tick population around us will be greatly reduced.  We have not seen or extracted a tick since using Thermacell “tick tubes” twice a year as directed.

Our fourth year

I bought these about a month ago and b placed them in the wooded areas around my house.  No ticks on my cat.  I would take 1 to 2 ticks off a day before. Even with a liquid tick and flea repellent  that i was placing on the cat.  So far it works great. I and my cat are very  hapy.

I give the Thermacell Tick Control Tubes Five Stars! We have been using them for several years now and the tick population has been reduced dramatically. I went through cancer treatments and did not get the tick control tubes out on time for the year and we saw an increase in the tick population and then we put more out and deeper into the woods and the reduction was incredible. For a couple of years everyone was seeing a huge increase in ticks. Our vet even commented on how many everyone was seeing and dealing with them. If you get these Tick Control Tubes out the first of April, the end of July and if you have a long hot and dryer summer than usual, it's good to put them out again in the beginning of October. Place them 20 feet inside the woodline area every 30 feet apart and then go another 20 inside the woods and place every 30 feet for the best results. You have to get them out to kill the the ticks in the nymph stage as they are much easier to kill in that stage of their life cycle.  The idea is to prevent the ticks from becoming adults.  If you use them as directed and pay attention to the weather pattern you will have great success with these products.   I highly recommend them.

Works Great

This will be the third tick season I have used the tubes and it does seem to have made a difference especially this past summer and this spring so far. Easy to use.

One thing that I can say about the the Tick Control Tubes is that mice are attracted to them and will remove the contents. I placed 15 tubes around the exterior of my house and in my garage. All of them except one had the cotton contents of the tubes removed. As for the ticks....time will tell. I am not sure how to rate the product for the eradication of ticks since they are so hard to see. All I know is that I found one on our laundry as it came in from our clothes line (it was on a white towel). Any other color and I probably would not have seen it. I am just hopeful that we do not find any ticks on us. My wife had lime 2 years ago after working in the yard and had a tick embedded on the side of her torso.

Control Tubes in VT

Several years ago our daughter gave us a set of tick tubes for Mothers' Day.  We live in an area where black legged ticks and lone star ticks are abundant; in our area the ticks carry Lyme Disease, Anaplasmosis and Babesiosis. We scattered the tubes in vegetation at the edges of the yard; we saw many fewer ticks in the yard area that year.  We have continued to scatter the tubes at the yard edges every year since.  Our impression is that there are fewer ticks now in the open lawn areas; we don't see them and we haven't picked up a tick walking in the yard in several years.  We do wear Permethrin impregnated clothing when working in brushy areas or taking walks in natural areas.

Seems to work to reduce the tick population

When you think of it the concept of the Thermacell tubes is stupid. The idea that this stuff is toxic to ticks and that your mice will use this material to line their homes and then the local ticks will ingest the chemical while sucking the mice's blood and then die - is that an effective way to rid yourself of the menace?
I put the six tubes in strategic places in my yard and my planned garden site and down in my basement. What about all the rest of the area where the ticks are and the mice might live or travel through? I have caught about 4 mice  - in glue traps - and have ripped about 5 ticks off my skin this spring. Who knows how many of the ticks have died from the Thermacell's? Maybe some, but it was not enough to have made a difference.

Of six tubes laid, only one showed mild evidence of rodent usage over a 2-months period. No evidence of ticks, but impossible to determine if this product is effective.
