My 2 year old grandson loves Thomas The Train--and has played with this set non-stop since we gave it to him. He wakes up in the morning saying "THOMAS" then goes in to watch Thomas race against Percy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I gave this to my son and another to his friend, both for their fourth birthdays. It's been a huge hit! Our son is an only child and we often struggle to get him to play by himself. Whenever we get this train set out, it's guaranteed that he'll play by himself for at least 30 minutes, but usually more like 2 hours. 

He has a little trouble keeping the diverters pointed in the correct direction to ensure that each train goes on it's own track at the turn around point, so crashes aren't uncommon. So far he's considered that a bonus rather than a detriment and we're working on teaching him how to check the diverters. 

I thought this might be one of those toys that is exciting to begin with, but loses it's charm. We've had it for two months so far and it's still a big hit. He and his friend both like to create "tricks" for the trains, such as redirecting them onto the same path, not letting the collapsing bridge collapse, and others, so it's not just racing all the time.

I will say that the directions weren't very clear about which direction the bridge needs to go to function properly and we initially had it set up incorrectly, which caused the bridge to not collapse. So a construction tip: the button that releases the bridge needs to face towards the starting gate.

Overall, it's a great toy that really seems to have staying power.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This set has been a big hit for my three sons under 5. My youngest son is walking around saying choo choo. The track is very large so it allows for multiple kids to enjoy it. The trains race themselves so the kids can watch and cheer on their favorite.

My grandchildren have fun with it. 
The track layout is such that the activation switch is always activated before a train reach the bridge, so the bridge always burst open and the trains never get on the bridge. 
Each bridge piece fits on a spigot of the central base, but comes off easily when the bridge burst open. I have to use hot glue to secure the pieces.
I have rearranged the track pieces so that the trains race in a continuous loop; the faster one would catch up the slower one and derail it. That is the funniest part to my grandchildren.

Bought this for my nieces for Christmas  they loved it was easy to put together, wish there was some way for the trains to just circle the track, but they loved it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm generally pretty bad with reviews but I'm going to give it a go - my son loves this!  He enjoys racing his train against his friends' train & it can keep him busy for an hour or two , which is a big deal!  

The pop up fireworks at the finish is a great touch as is the bust apart bridge.

Love the Racing!

I purchased this for my 4 yr old son for Christmas and he was super excited! The illustrated instructions made it easy for us both to put together. He loved racing Thomas and Percy over and over. (Percy has yet to win.) My son likes how the tracks are two different colors around the curved section of the track. When the bridge bursts apart, his little body jumps every time. My only disappointment was the speed of the trains. I purchased new, name brand batteries and the trains that came with the set still did not seem to go as fast as you would think "race trains" should go. Luckily, all Thomas trains fit and soon the whole crew were racing one another.

Great Idea!

My 4year old son, love it so much the first time we built it, it's just that the thomas train it self is a bit disappointing. We've been changing the batteries everyday since we bought it as a Christmas gift, still the way it runs on the rail track was not good enough to carry it self up on the ramp that we even have to give it a push or help so just we can see the train jump into the track. So over all I would suggest that due to heaviness of thomas train, it should carry a 4x of triple A batteries so that it would have enough power to push it self on the higher ramp and wouldn't slow down not even after a 1 lap.

Great product but the thomas train

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My three and five year olds enjoyed helping my put the track together. Once assembled they enjoyed racing each other. They both enjoy Thomas trains so every now and then the races continued off the tracks!
My only wish is if it was a continuous track instead of just start and finish.

Simple to assemble

its a lot of work and not so fun. had to change the battery from the train shortly after buying it. my toddler did not enjoy it so much. but he loves the train.

save your money
