Instructions

The instructions were very straightforward, just had to use the included torx allen wrench to take the plugs out of the track, install the mounting bolt and bracket, and then tie it all to the footpack with two bolts. Took a little bit of touch to get the bolts to catch, but once they did it was on there solid. Very happy with the design!

Overall, I'm pleased with the roof rack, but I wonder why it attaches at fixed single screw locations.  The Grand Cherokee roof track has rolled edges as if a sliding mount was possible, but Thule uses a single screw attachment instead.  When Thule and Mopar engineers get together and improve this interface, let me know!

Quality item, but...

The installation instructions left a lot to be desired, I had to refer to a lot of other forums and youtube videos to get through the installation process. I was installing them onto a 2020 Jeep Grant Cherokee, ad very nearly sent them back because the rubber casings fit so awkwardly onto my track. Finally I learned that the poorly fitting rubber casings were by design, and not to worry about it. 

The tools provided also made it very difficult to complete the install, as the height of the wrench was too tall, making the tightening maneuver almost impossible to do. 

Overall installation felt difficult and confusing, and the end result did not feel secure.

Instructions unclear

Read through user manual before you purchase. What's pictured on the main page is not what you get.  I have a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a factory track and the clasp that comes with KIT 183142 faces the wrong way and will NOT clasp on to the factory track. The only thing that mounts your kit to the rail it the 4 bolts.  I purchased the Wingbar Evo 135, Rapid podium and the KIT 18342 for a support for my Tupui rooftop tent and Im crossing my fingers that the 4 bolts is what's suppose to support and secure this to the rails.  The 2015 Jeep rails only have the outer side of the rail with a lip for the clasps to grab onto as the inner rail is flush with nothing for the clasps to grab on to.  HEADS UP

Buyer beware - See user manual before you purchase

I bought this as it states it fits a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee but it does not work on the roof of the 80th Edition!
False information provided from an auto dealership led me to purchase the vehicle and now not able to install roof racks on the factory rails which are not compatible to mount any cross rails to this vehicle.  Not the fault of Thule...

Not proper for 80th edition Jeep GC

This doesn't work with the factor track for my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee this fits a more raised track. My track looks more like this and it does not work.

Does not work on a open track rail system on a Grand Cherokee. The web site says it will !!
