The lid is very heavy and not much of handle to hold on to, very well made but again very heavy.   If you have trouble grasping things you may want to choose a lighter butterdish.

I now see  why this item was at a reduced price. While it is extremely well made and nice looking, it is extremely heavy. The "handle" on the lid is so small that you cannot grasp onto it and must lift up the heavy top by its sides. Having a disability with my hands makes it very difficult.

Difficult To Use

It's super aesthetic and well made! Some cons- the lid is large and awkward to pick up, and kind of heavy! The tab on the top is also quite small and hard to grasp. I might deal with it for awhile but I know it'll be too annoying to not replace eventually. It's so pretty I'm sad

Could not pick up the lid by handle and too much of a risk to drop and break. Really liked the appearance though. Had to return. Even the lady at the return counter dropped the lid!

Breakage risk

I do not recommend this product due to its lid. You cannot lift lid by thing on top. Needs to be taller and maybe indented so you can lift lid on right way

The "handle" on top is far too small and short to grip and the lid is too heavy to pick up by the useless handle.  I have to use both hands to pick it up by the sides.  It's sturdy but it's a terrible design.

Heavy butter dish lid can't be lifted.

Its very clunky and heavy. Bigger than i anticipated.  the top is impossible to hold onto, the handle on top is tiny and slick. Overall it looks cheap. Not worth the hassle of sending back.

I love Thyme%26Table products, however this one, hard to grab the lid to lift (nearly dropped it several times), and it doesnt fit a regular size butter, had to slice my butter three times just to fit it in the dish and it still hit the top of the inner lid creating a mess.

Only for Decorative Purposes maybe?

This butter dish is very hard to open with one hand. The lid sides are tapered making it hard to grasp and open with one hand, and the piece on the lid to pinch with your fingers is very hard to keep a hold of as you lift the lid.

While this butter dish is attractive, it is not at all practical.  The lid is much heavier than you would think. The handle is so tiny you can't even use it to lift the lid. This one will be going back.
