Wanted something sturdy but didn't want the problem of storing it. I hate when things get stuck and the drawer won't open. Saw this and said, "Problem solved." But was concerned about the stability of the folding head. Fret no more! Stores easily folded, works great in ready position.

Works as expected. Sure you can process or use a hand held blender but heated foods can break them. Why not build some arm strength while cooking up a good meal!

Solid works well cleans easy

It's a potato masher that has a fold down head. I'll admit in the beginning, I forgot how it folded. But I remember now and it doesn't take up much room in the drawer. I love it!

You have to be a little less aggressive, mashing potatoes than I am because it will fold up on you- but I love that it folds up and will go in the kitchen drawer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Thyme & Table Stainless Steel Potato Masher has an innovative, folding design. We were excited to try it, as the finish on our tried & true standard zig-zag looking masher is TIRED and makes rust marks if left wet.

My young son (see photo) tried mashing canned beans to make bean dip and found the round head ineffective. We finished the job with our old masher.

Overall, for as nice as the folding feature is, the new masher doesn't do a better job than our old one. We prefer the open zig-zag design to the round head with holes, and I hope Thyme & Table considers making a folding masher with that design.

What makes this fit in the drawer well, makes it difficult to use.

Disappointed. It keeps flattening while using.

However it tends to fold in. I'm not sure if the potatoes are not tender when I mesh them for it to fold in.

Does the job…

Less than zero rating.  The base does not unfold. Struggled for several minutes until I cut my finger on the side rivet. Piece of garbage.

When I go to smash the mash potatoes or eggs… it collapses over and over again! It was too cheap to take back to Walmart since it's out of my way. It was tossed.
