This item lives up to the TiVo name.  Years ago I had a TiVo box on my satellite (before DVRs had become such an everyday item) and after they upgraded my home to the newer DVR boxes I missed the features of TiVo so much.  TiVo gets to know you and makes recommendations, but the TiVo Stream is even more user friendly.  The way it searches through apps so you don't have to is great.  I signed in to my apps, and on the home screen it list show you may like and then it lets you know which apps have options to watch it so you aren't going in and out of apps looking for where you can watch it.  It has the AndroidTV so you can easily find apps to add.  With Chrome Cast built in you can easily cast anything tonyou TV without any additional steps or devices.  My "not so smart" tv is now the smartest tv in the house, LOL.  It is absolutely worth the purchase.

Absolutely a great purchase.

Wish I could give 3.5, this is a decent replacement for Google Chromecast especially since not being produced anymore and don't want to spend the $100 for the new version. Have been using this for at least 5 years now, one for each TV. One of those died and this review is for the replacement one. If another one dies, I may suck it up and buy the new Google Streamer thing but for now, doing just fine. Also to be fair, they did used to be $30 when purchased the first two and got this one on sale, so a little pricier now. Guide and interface is easy to use, same as any of them, some apps you can't delete or shift around but not too bad. Have had pairing remote issues and needs a hard reboot on occasion which is mostly the reason for the 3.5 rating instead of 4 or 5.

Decent and Functional

I like the hardware, the remote feels great in my hand, the power cord is very long and overall feel of the device is like it's well made. The device itself is running Android TV platform based on Android 9 which is great for people who like myself who are familiar with it. My biggest issue is the added TiVo  bloatware and their pushing of the Sling subscription, neither of which are of any use to me. The worst part is they are labeled as system apps so at best they can be disabled but eventually, even a push on the TiVo key will bring up an activation screen. Annoying stuff.

I loved the idea of having all my programs visible on one screen without trying to remember which app they were in. Unfortunately the unit kept switching off after a couple of hours - off, not going to sleep. And it gave no warning that this was going to happen. I returned it.

Maybe it was defective?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wasn't what I expected. Thought I would get more timely content ie from CNN, Macys Thanksgiving Day parade, etc. and ended up streaming from my computer instead.

This is a great device with one fatal flaw. YouTube TV, the best way to get and "record" network TV, will not work with it. It is a legitimate app to download to the device and it looks like all is well until you start using it. The video freezes with live TV or "recorded" TV while the audio continues. I have tried for months to fix this and have been in touch with support at both TIVO and YouTube TV. They both are aware of the problem and say they are working on it but I am skeptical. How hard can it be to fix with a firmware update. I believe they don't care or do not want to fix it. This could be why they recently lowered the price.

A bad experience!

Disappointed! I was really excited about trying this out if it worked the way they said.
First off it came with the wrong power cable. The box takes USB-C and it came with a micro USB.
You have to create a Tivo account to activate your box and attach to your Google account.
Also if you have Xfinity just forget it because you can't get the app on their system at all. 
Not user friendly, confusing and you still have to leave the home page to get to other apps.
