The knives are two-toned and have a plastic handle, which I do like but I feel like it looks on the cheaper side of things. They cut great though and I didn't need to sharpen anything. These make a cute addition to any kitchen!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow super impressed with this beautiful set I totally just tossed out my old oak look set from 20 years ago , that was a huge step for me as I don't like change but soon as I opened this set I knew it was time ,the knife block is super stable and study and I can see the quality craftsmanship ,the color totally looks great in any kitchen and the knifes are super well made huge quality, love the kitchen shears and the knife sharper is a great addition ,would and do highly recommend this set and it would make an adorable well received gift , well done

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I would give this a four star because it is not slanted. But the elegance of the design is really beautiful that I could not give it a minus star. It is made of great quality material from the cutlery to the stand. I am so in love with my new knife set. The floral touch on the wood is really cute. The handles are easy grip and the scissors are super. Not like the cheap ones. This is a must have knife set. Especially if you already own a bunch of steak knifes. Because this does not come with it. But I don't care because all the knifes are sharp and great quality.

They are easy to see which knife you need and easy to put away. Tia Mowry has something great going here. She has put her name on a great product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This set has a good selection of knife sizes. The handles have a nice "grippy" section that helps keep the knife steady. However, one part that needs improvement is since this is a 2-pieced handle molded together, there are resin chards at the seam that flaked off with initial few uses. (It's also slightly rough). The knife block is also solid, but tips easily.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like the look of this knife set; the handles are two-tone teal and they match the block perfectly. The set includes the bock, a pair of scissors with a bottle opener attached, a large carving knife, a paring knife, a smaller-size knife and a knife sharpening stick with a magnet on the end. I especially liked the way it was packaged: the knives were packed in a separate box with cardboard over the blade and a little plastic thing over the tip of the blade, then all in plastic. I didn't give it a higher rating for the following reasons:
1. It's a small thing, but I don't like that I have to pull the knives straight up to remove them from the block. I set my knife block to the black of the counter and under a cupboard; I have to move the block to get access to the knives.
2. Having the scissors in the block is great, but where's the serrated knife? This set needs one, as far as I'm concerned.
3. The knives are OK, but they are not the highest quality steel. I find I need to sharpen them before I can cut tomatoes.
4. Who really uses that sharpener? I don't like to sharpen my knives mid-air. I'll stick with my old countertop sharpener that I keep in the drawer. It does have a magnet on the end, though, that can be used for picking up stuff that falls between the fridge and counter.

"Starter" knives

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a really good knife set for beginners. The set is not particularly sharp and seems like it could wear out really easily. It does come with a knife sharpener and a pair of scissors which is nice. The handle seem like they could wear away really easy. The design is cute but does look a little cheap.

Good for beginners

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Some background: yes, I am a knife snob. I worked in professional kitchens as a cook, chef, and kitchen manager for a couple of decades, so I know a little bit about the subject. My home knife sets include Henckels ice-forged blades, inherited Chinese cleavers that my grandfather brought to the U.S. in the early 1900's, and a number of other truly high-quality pieces. I keep them surgically sharp, and have taught my kids proper knife care, with the understanding that knives are meant to be sharp. 

I also have a category of knives that I and the fam call "the junk knives". This set is now a part of that collection. 

These are absolutely junk knives. All documentation stating the contrary (the paperwork that came with the set) is pretty much false- this is trash steel. The blades on most of these are badly machined- the exception would be the serrated bread knife, which will do the job it's meant to do- but I would not use that "French" or chef's, knife to mince anything, on a bet. A test run, attempting to mince parsley, a very common item to use in cooking, resulted in mostly bruised and torn herbs, NOT cleanly cut at all. Attempts to remedy the dullness resulted in more dullness, to a degree that I have rarely seen. We tried them with raw garlic, as well, resulting in mostly bruised garlic, and the blade kept attempting to TURN when pressed down on the bulbs, due to dullness of the blade. 
My son offered to work them on our grinding kit, but I told him not to bother. These will never see regular use, in our kitchen.

The knives are not balanced, and the blades are ridiculously thick, but that will come in handy for using them as prying tools. They are obviously cheap, in appearance, feel, and performance. This is a "stamped" knife set, not a forged set. Craftsmanship is 2 out of 10. 

That being said: 
- The shears work as designed. 
- The knife honer (that is NOT a sharpener) appears to work well on most items tested on it, save for the knive set that it actually came with. 
- The block is cute- and I like that it's upright, rather than at a slant, so it will have a smaller footprint on a counter. I may use that for a select few of my favorite knives, to keep near the main cutting boards. 

The knives, however, will be living in the "junk knives and sharp things for doing dumb stuff with" drawer, along with the bent screwdrivers, scissors used for cutting wires, and, well, JUNK knives. I cannot recommend these. They're not good.

Knife snob here...would not buy this set
