We used a Tiger rice maker that my great aunt had used for probably 20+ years, and she gave it to us, and we used it for 20 more years. Finally it gave out, and we found a new one. It's the same brand, same mechanism, same simple clean design, and same perfect functionality. It's slightly bigger than our old one, so we had to play with the amount of water we put in to get the same consistency/stickiness of rice that we always liked. We expect it to last for another 40 years, and we will hand it down to the next generation just like old Aunty did.

Walmart's price was right...This rice maker was being sold for $140 at the local Asian market. I like to buy local, but not for more than double the price...

Just like My Great Aunty's

walmart.com

I have used this rice cooker in the past and was so impressed, I decided to buy two more. Rice cooks well, is easy to use and can even be used to steam food. It is a great product that lasts a very long time. I think I bought my previous one 10 years ago and it still works but it's a little worn down now so I decided to buy more before it actually breaks down. The price was a great value for the merchandise.

Great value for an excellent product.

This is the only rice cooker that I will ever buy and use. It is easy to clean/use. It is the real deal! I know that 80 percent of all my family members have this rice cooker in their kitchens. You won't be disappointed. I'm so glad I found it here at walmart because I was really considering buying this same one for 200+ dollars. I love it. My step mom has the same one and she has been using it for over 10 years.

Best of the REST!

I've had a Tiger rice cooker before and loved it! Seeing Walmart carry it I quickly grab the chance to re-own. It is the best brand of rice cooker out there. Do not buy Aroma, that's what I replaced my old one with. Sometimes buying cheap is not the best thing, especially when it comes to your rice.

Can't wrong with Tiger

Had the smaller Tiger for 16 years. This larger unit has same
features but also includes a steamer. Don't know if I will use
the steamer yet this unit makes perfect rice, white, brown,
rissoto. Remember to take the inside top sensor piece out when done
to keep the unit clean.
You will pay a few more dollars for the Tiger yet it pays you
back in durability and perfect rice.

I was raised on rice cooked in this brand! I am a fan of the Tiger brand. I can keep rice in the pot for at least a day without it spoiling. Just unplug; to eat rice the next day, I just plug it in and "keep warm". Note: I have not steamed anything yet.

Quality

I have used Tiger brand in the past. When my last Tiger rice cooker stopped working I thought maybe I will find a less expensive brand well that was a mistake. If you use the rice cooker almost everyday then buy a Tiger. This cooker will last a long time and it steams the rice perfectly. Remember you get what you pay for.

Best rice cooker

Basically, I love it. However, the finish on the inside of the rice cooking pan is apparently dangerous if it gets scratched. Obviously it is difficult to avoid any scratched in a rice cooker that is used every single day.

I wish it had a cooking pan with a stainless steel finish, which is also "non-stick" and is not coated with a plastic-like substance that will enter the food and the body if it becomes scratched.

We like the ease of cooking -- no computers, just plug it in and turn it on... but the coating on the pan is pretty scary when you check it out in Google and other places.

A good product that needs a manufacturing change

I would like to recommend for buying this product. It is good quality and good price. Please buy this product on only Walmart because I bought the 5.5cups rice cooker from Asian market which has very expensive price and doesn't give the warranty and they never have exchange and refund service.
I totally like Walmart Online Order cause shipping service is very super fast. they took only 4 or 5 days.
Thank you! Walmart.

Good quality

I've always owned a Tiger brand rice cooker. Already knew what to expect. The only thing that was keeping me from rating this particular rice cooker a 5 us that the top cover seemed to be discolored and not the same as the bottom half. Otherwise, we'll keep buying the Tiger rice cooker.

I thought it was going to be bigger but it was not. If you have a good amount of people in your house this is not for you, but if you are alone this is a great rice cooker for ONE person if you eat alot of rice. Thank you.
