I got this game for my husband for his Birthday and he just Loves it. I had got him a different golf game for Christmas because it was cheaper and you get what you pay for. Spend the extra money and don't do what I did get this game right away. He plays it every day and he don't even play golf but he LOVES the game.

I've been a PC Gamer for many years. My Wii is only 4 months old so I'm just getting accustomed to interacting with this new game platform. I pre-ordered Tiger Woods 09 before it's release date not sure what to expect. Well so far I have no regrets. If you enjoy the game of golf I think you'll agree it's got the same feel as the real game in many respects. There's a neat new optional feature where four players tee-off on a hole, all play the hole at the same time, the first one finished watches the other 3 finish the hole. (Really speeds up the game) I'm fortunate enough to play on a 65" HD TV that makes the experience that much better. Don't expect the high graphics resolution of the PS3 or XBox but the picture and sound are up to standard TV quality. It's a fun sim!

Better then I expected

This game gives the owner a chance to play courses only heard or read about. From the first in the world St. Andrews in Scotland to the famous Pacific bordered Pebble Beach in Carmel, the graphics are incredible. Places like Wolf Creek perched on hills in a desert enviornment look daunting, but good play rewards the golfer with great scores. If you like Wii golf, this is a must have! Get it! Because of the possibilities it takes a little while to become accustomed to the controls, programming and different kinds of play. Set up and play is not instantly intuitive. Once learned, it simulates golf in a rewarding, fun, satisfying way.

extremely entertaining game

What a hoot...forgot you were playing a video game as I became more competitive....would recommend this to the person who thinks they are super golfer....you'll learn a thing or two...Actually helped me with my swing.

Fun Golf Game

Almost all of this game is great. I love swinging the Wii remote to hit the ball rather than clicking buttons or moving a computer mouse. The party games and other features are lots of fun.

The one glaring issue with this game is the putting. I am amazed that EA would release this game with how frustrating the putting is.

Overall the game is great. With how poor the putting is, I am not sure it is worth $50, but I still play it about everyday. I just don't win any tournaments because putting is, for me anyway, almost impossible.

Great game with one glaring issue

This game was very difficult to learn at first but after a couple of days playing it, it is as close to playing real golf as it gets without being on a real course. I don't like the putting hints/tips it gives, do better on my own. Be patient with it. Overall I would recommend it though, it's very challenging.

An Ok game, not good game if you play by self got board with it after about an hour of play. Defiantly not a must have of the EA sports games. I would say decent but similar to past Tiger woods games I would say it is average wait till price drops not worth $50 bucks.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09

After reading several reviews and knowing my own experiences playing golf on the WII, here is what you need to consider. If you do not play real golf then this is a game. With no pre-conceived bias, you will likely enjoy the GAME. If you do play real golf, it is a SPORT and you want the WII experience to duplicate real golf as much as possible. This software, originally developed for a PC & mouse cannot readily be converted into working with ALL that a WII remote deliver. Thus, those who want a training aide, will likely be dissapointed. Those who buy a game will enjoy it a lot more because they are not aware of the weakness /flaws. I am a left-handed player. While tiger woods golf (PC) plays great on my PC with just a mouse but the WII version DOES NOT seem to track with my hands so I play right-handed on my Son's WII.
You want to play a game? I want a SPORT game.
The WII experience is about action and realism, right?? The swing, the shot distances, and putting are critical issues for real golfers!!!!

TW GOLF - GAME or SPORT ??

There are many things to like about Tiger Woods 09 on the Wii: simultaneous online play, better control of hooking and slicing, improved (though far from perfect) short game. It's too bad that the game is completely unplayable. Let me qualify that. It's completely unplayable if you're expecting this to be like real golf. So let's get to the crux of the matter. Back in the original 07 release, people complained about two things: phantom swings, and putting. The real problem was that this version was just a port of an existing swing engine mapped poorly to the Wii remote. Many people complained, and apparently EA listened, as both of these were addressed in the 08 release. In fact, putting in 08 was nearly flawless. So, someone please explain to me why the people at EA decided to take a giant step backward and include the unrealistic putting engine from another platform in this TW09 for the Wii? We play this game on the Wii because we want it to be like real golf. No one in real golf takes a putter out on a 3 foot putt and swings it with all their might like they were trying to hit the ball onto the next tee. But that is exactly what 09 requires you to do. It's hopelessly flawed (yes, many people have written up how to successfully putt using this engine, but the issue is not that we don't know how...it's that we don't want to putt like that). Since putting is about 40% of the game of golf, this flaw hopelessly cripples this game, making it impossible to recommend, which is a shame, since the other new features, along with improved graphics, are a welcome upgrade. I do not see that EA would be able to offer an upgrade, so it looks like we'll have to hold out for Tiger Woods 10. Maybe Tiger Woods on the Wii is like Star Trek movies...skip the odd numbered ones.

Tiger Woods 09 Misses Badly

I rented the 2008 version and went out to buy it but I found this 2009 version and I though I found a good deal, what a waste of $22.00, I'm ready to snap this disk in half! 2008 works so much better, at least you can putt properly! What a major screw up ea did with this game, I'm so frustrated with it I'm going to give it away!!!!!
