As a new dog owner, searching for the right pet items that both puppy and I can adjust too.  I have found that the metal clasp on this collar is sleek  and easy to use. It fastens securely - you can hear the click in place! 
I have found that the majority of dog collars, leashes and harnesses on the market have plastic clips, which are bulky, clumsy and cumbersome, and if puppy gets ahold of them they are chewed off!

Coastal Pet Products

I love the metal clip on this collar! I have never had a problem with them coming undone. I have arthritic hands and the metal clasp is easy on my hands. I absolutely hate the plastic ones because they are difficult, and in my case painful to open and the plastic prongs are not very durable.

I have had a costal dog collar on my 80lbs standard bully for a few years and it's held up great no problems at all still looks good and works properly I won't use anything else

We love these collars from Coastal! They are easy to click on and don't make loud noises. Super easy to clean also!

Collar is great.  Fabric has worn well over the years.  
Metal buckle is a different story.  The catch disintegrated after about 4 years of use.

This collar is flawed.  Unlike the collars that have the plastic clips that lock this metal one can open by simply pushing in one side.  I was walking my puppy and somehow that one side was pushed in and the collar came completely off, my puppy just missed getting hit by a truck.  I know I checked the collar prior to walking and it was secure, but she was rubbing up against my leg and then all of the sudden the collar was off and she ran into the street.  The collars with the plastic clips are opened only when both side clips are pushed this can easily open when only one side is pushed.

Do Not Buy this collar

These collars are very poorly made and definitely not going to hold up to the strength of a strong dog over time especially if your dog is a houdini like ours. There is no reinforcement to hold the collar around the buckle so over time with heat it will just come undone all they do is melt the end of it and stick it down. I do not recommend this collar to anyone for their dog
