Build Quality

Temperature Control

We had our gas cook top fail in December 2025. We bought this as a temporary solution until we upgraded our electrical and a new cook top was installed. Fast forward 6 months and we finally got the job done. This little $20 cooktop is far from perfect but it was reliable for what it was and how it was a bandaid for our problem.

Pros
1)Both burners worked well.
2)The dials were decent enough in controlling heat. Size was great for moving around on counter tops.
3)Consistently acted as our main cooktop for 6 months without fail.

Cons
1)It is small, we couldnt usually not do two items at once unless using smaller pans and pots.
2)Not the highest quality construction or materials.

Definitely worth your money though.

All in all

Our range broke down and we got this one to carry us over. Can't go wrong with the price. A little challenging when you spill something on the burner but again for the price it's a great buy.

Great little emergency stove

Toastmaster Portable Hot Plate

Paint deteriorated after a few days. Temperature control inconsistent.

Toastmaster Double Burner

Useless do not waste your time. The larger burner worked once now it will turn on .The smaller burner does not get hot enough boiling water takes 45 minutes. It keeps shutting off.I thought it was the circuit breaker in my apartment apparently it is a safety mechanism useless you cannot cook using this device.I will be returning for a full refund

Piece of Junk

Indicater light broke first day. The last single burner one i had only lasted 2 months
Couldnt return because I lost reciept

Very poor

Walmart has the right to remove negative reviews.
This is safety advice:
- This cooktop came without internal thermal cut-off like NTE8213. So I checked expiration date on my fire extinguisher.
- When burners got burned, I used the one year warranty from selectbrands.
I can't directly put their SUPPORT email address here.
Work with them, don't escalate to Better Business Bureau immediately.
- When you throw away a broken cooktop, save rubber legs for the next one.

Tough competition for your dollar

Double burner

Did I get a defect? The minute I plugged it in and even on low, it was smoking. A huge safety hazard particularly for someone pregnant who should not be breathing fumes.

When the price is too good to be true?

Toastmaster Electric Double Burner portable double burner with two coil burners, adjustable thermostat and independent temperature control knobs for each burner, visible power indicator light, compact lightweight housing for easy transport and even-heating coil design. Also suitable for use as a buffet warmer at events.
