[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a wonderful set of drawing pencils and a "pen" eraser. The set includes 6 different pencils with varying lead weights. A perfect set for the beginner or a great "travel pack" for the avid sketcher. A perfect learning opportunity to draw the same subject with different pencils to learn how each one works. The benefits and draw back to each weight. I found the set lovely to work with. The pencils sharpen without issue or splitting. This can be a problem with lesser quality pencils. One of my favorite things about this set is the eraser, I have fell in love with the ability to eraser a line without bothering my drawing. This set is taking permanent residence in my travel pack so where ever I go I will have the tools need to catch whatever subject catches my attention. Please see the drawing I've added I used all the different pencils in the drawing.

Sometimes, cheaper pencils will break and fall apart, smearing her work and ruining her picture.
Because of the quality they last longer and are a better value.

High quality art pencils

They have a the different sizes needed for me to identify existing vs. new placement and are smooth strong and no breakage, Able to get the full use of a drafting, drawing pencil, Doesn't smudge.

Smooth easy drawing pencils

"I am impressed with the quality of the Tombow drawing pencils, and especially the fine-point eraser. The variable hardness to softness (H-B) of the samples allowed me to sketch and shade my drawings, all from the same set. They are professional, high-quality pencils, with good hardwood sheaths.

This is the best eraser stylus I have encountered. It allowed me to erase fine areas, and I experimented with a drawing technique using the eraser to reverse-draw from an applied shaded surface. That technique was exciting for me, since I have had to try to form pinpoints from the material I usually use for reverse drawing."

The eraser is supposed to be refillable, but I would talk to the company to make sure that this information is correct.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was super excited to open the Tombow Mono Drawing Pencil Set when it came in the mail. They looked like great pencils before I even opened the plastic. They didn't come sharpened, but honestly I prefer it that way. I've sharpened them once, and haven't needed to resharpen them yet, after a dozen sketches. The graphite points are strong enough that they haven't broken and the lead is still true to indicated firmness. The pack came with 2H pencil, HB, B, 2B, 4B, and 6B. They were all a breeze to get sharp and they're all so smooth. I've used them to do base sketches, and to shade drawings. They blend beautifully and blend well into each other. They're great to layer line work as well as drawing develops. These pencils have already replaced every set I have previously used. It's the perfect base on the go sketch kit. As much as I've enjoyed the pencils, my absolute favorite part of the set is the mono elastomer eraser stick. It's an eraser that works exactly like a mechanical pencil, and I just don't know how I did art without it before. It became a staple for my drawing kit after the very first time I used it. It's perfect for accompanying a larger eraser that's no longer got its points. There is no space too small for it to reach. I love it. Overall, I don't have a single complaint about this set. It's a great purchase for any level of artist.

A must have set for any level of artist

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been drawing and sketching for years and until now I have preferred using a
Graphic Pen to graphite or a graphite pencil because the smudging had presented a dilemma. When the opportunity came up for me to review this set I thought I would give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised. The lines are crisp and the graphite holds up and does not break. The eraser is remarkable and only gets what I want to erase and did no damage to the original paper. I am extremely pleased that the detail is so fine (the eyelashes etc.) I have not finished the piece but I can see that these pencils afford me the achievement of the blackest blacks as well as the impression of a full grey scale range. I have yet to try them on different grades and special textures of paper (handmade) but I am exceptionally delighted so far. To be honest I did not pay for this pencil set. They gave it to me to review and I will willingly purchase these in the future as well as share them with my artist friends with pleasure because the quality is right up there with the best…perhaps better than most as I got NO smudging and there was no breakage of the graphite!
I am very pleased with this set and I give it the highest recommendation.

Wonderful high quality graphite pencil set

I am THRILLED with these pencils and the BONUS Eraser, as well. So excited to receive them, I immediately put each pencil in my electric sharpener and they displayed the sharpest, finest points I've ever seen. So, I immediately sat down and QUICKLY made a drawing of my parrot, Wyndle. I was so impressed with the very fine, sharp black pencil I was using (6). It is ultra fine and very sturdy (break-resistant). With each pencil different, there will certainly be the perfect one (density) for your project. If you've ever wanted or needed professional pencils, these are it! PRO QUALITY~HI DENSITY GRAPHITE~SMEAR PROOF~REMAINS SHARP & BREAK-RESISTANT~I don't see how you could ask for a better set. These are FAR SUPERIOR TO ORDINARY PENCILS, which I (sadly) had been using. 'Such a difference! Having illustrated for a major airline for 15 years (posters, flip charts, etc.) as well as another 15 yrs making cards and other art work, I never had pencils as good as these and I certainly appreciate their value to an artist and/or illustrator.

The ERASER is WONDERFUL and such a nice BONUS to this pack. 2.3mm (small) PRECISION TIP REMOVES ONLY WHAT YOU NEED~NON-PVC ERASER WON'T DAMAGE PAPER. It is silver metal w/ black clip top. (at right in picture w/pencils), You can adjust the length of eraser you want/need. VERY HELPFUL,GREAT BONUS! It erases well and easily both black and color. (pencils 7" long ~ eraser 4 3/4") Tombow has provided most all the info you need on the its page.

NOTE: THE "BRIGHT COLORS" in the fast drawing are the Tombow Recycled Wood COLOR pencil set (Brights). Nice set to have with this black set. They are as advertised ~ BRIGHT (green- blue-yellow-red). 'Can't wait to take my time and do a REAL drawing.

PROFESSIONAL~IMPRESSED~RECOMMEND High+GREAT PRICE!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have recently gotten back into drawing. Have always liked the looks of a drawing done in just black and white. One of my favorite things to draw are eyes. I loved trying out the Tomboy MONO Drawing Pencil Combo Pack i received. The pencils are wonderful, don't break when sharpened. (Nothing aggrivates me more than sharpening a pencil just to have the lead break numerous times.) I will be looking at my local Hobby Lobby for these pencils in the future!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The pencils and eraser work very well on the different papers I tried them on. I really didn't use them for drawing pictures but did use them for drawing floor plans. It was easy to sharpen and I didn't have to do it every time I used it.

Tombow Mono Drawing Pencil

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I particularly like the Tombow MONO Drawing pencils with the 6B lead. It is great for sketching and shading and I am enjoying it immensely. The package comes in a 6-pack of graphite pencils: 6B, 4B, 2B, B, HB, and 2H. Also included in the package is a MONO Zero Elastomer eraser which has a tiny point for erasing very small areas. Although I have less use for the harder leads, I will use them on occasion, making this package worth purchasing. I recommend it.
