You can actually take this unit out of the box and turn it on . Both manual and remote control , both of which are user friendly . I replaced my gas fireplace and installed this unit to replace it. It is very cozy and gives off a realistic fireplace look . Comes with a heavy attached cord , no assembly required. Two speed electric heater , 759 and 1500 WT.  Three  light glows to choose from ,  I feel it was a good value and good fireplace replacement from the old gas one.
