Great microwave. The reheat works perfectly by sensor and I love the eco mode to save on electricity when not in use.

Perfect microwave

I just love it. So quiet I often check to see if it's actually running and see the time count down. Works great. Only wish the keypad was lighted.

Great

Overall this is a very good microwave. The handle mechanism is robust compared to the push button release models. Power levels are good once you understand how to activate them. Pressing and holding 8 until a beep is heard silences the tones so you don't wake people up heating your morning meal. And pressing start gives your items another 30secs in most modes.
Pressing 1 2 or 3 gets you that many minutes with 1 touch convenience.

Sensor cooks and reheats are a mixed bag. The pizza setting gets in the neighborhood of an okay cooked 9 inch pizza. Adding an extra 2 mins does a much better job of melting the cheese. Putting it on a plate with a microwave safe tray for drainage gets you even better results. Frozen veggies worked out very well. I tried the popcorn setting and it was okay but I got better results just following the packages 1 minute and 20 seconds on high recommendation. Would like to see an addition of Rice but other than that it's good. Auto Defrost was very good too. So overall the sensor modes are a solid addition rather than a gimmick.

Things to be aware of include: a minor manual misprint in how to set the Power Level. Instead press Cook Time enter your time then press Power Level. Poorly implemented Timer function. Instead of letting the timer run while using the microwave for other things like cooking it holds the unit hostage until either the timer finishes or you cancel it. And a very hard to read keypad in the dark that is also harder to use with damp hands 

None of these are deal breakers for me though and compared to other microwave ovens in this size, class and price range this is amoung the very best.

Great larger Microwave

Got it a few weeks ago, been liking it a LOT, it is a tad bigger than what I would prefer, but it is nice, heating up food evenly and my coffee and tea almost boiling hot in 2 minutes.  The only thing I kinda not sure, each time i open the door, i smell some 'electric burns' smell, there is no smoke or anything, maybe it is because it is still fairly new ?  i dont know.. will see how it works in another week or two, if i dont like it or it still 'smells' i have the option to return it within 90 days, which is a great option.

Liking it a lot, but there is this 'smell'

The microwave was a good price for the features and the size, but the down sides are three: 1.  the low visibility of the control panel!  There is no back light behind the number pad and the number/lettering is very faint.  I had to hang a small pen light on the handle in order to see the panel.  Kitchen is very bright with much natural light, but even with additional lights on, panel barely visible.  Bad design.  As there is a alternative french panel included in the package, I would think it would be advisable for Toshiba to send out a much more visible panel to all of the disgruntled customers who have purchased this item...small investment for big rewards and a lot less returns. 2.  The microwave requires a great deal of clearance in and around the unit (as per safety specs in the manual) and because of this the design with its protruding back panel and lack of space to accommodate the electrical plug on the left side results in the unit sitting away from the wall 4+inches in my case, which means it barely fits on the microwave shelf for which it was intended. This is made difficult ...and the third negative...as this with the combined area for ventilation and the light weight of the unit means it slides around a lot with use and often comes off the shelf when you open the door...had some spillage because of this, but have now put a silicone mat under the unit so that it is more securely placed.  Good unit mechanically, but buy a flashlight, and a silicone mat, and make sure the plug in behind clears the unit in the back...Given you understand and can live with the above fore mentioned three, you should be very happy with this purchase.

++ Unit with three important negatives to note

The microwave works fine although we've only used it so far for regular cooking, have not used any of the special features. The controls display is VERY dark and difficult to read.

Very basic microwave,  Did not even have a cancel button  -- if you make a mistake, you have to wait until it completes.  Hard to see the control panel. Slips easily on counter

Very limited capability

This microwave overheated (presumably) and gave us an error code on the first day and probably the second or third use. Not twenty minutes of use, mind you, but around 5-6. I wish it had been very clear on the overview that this couldn't go on your counter under any other cabinetry and certainly not in a microwave nook.

Walmart didn't give us any trouble returning to store, even though it was an online purchase.

This microwave has no backlight on the keypad thus I have to use a flashlight to light up for selection of using. There was also a grinding noise from the rotation dish at the start and end of the cooking.  I had already destroyed the box the unit came in before the setting up procedure so could not send unit back for replacement or refund. Very disturbing but I guess I will have to live with this unit.

TOTALLY DISTURBING PURCHASE

Didn't really get a chance to use it!  The internal works had a rattling sound like something was loose..no not the platter.  One could hardly see the function display.  Feet are slippery (really?)  I had to return it  Poor design and quality control.
