I was just looking a cheap toaster oven and searches kept showing up tons of "air fryers". What the heck is an air fryer? So, of course it opened up pandora's box and I went on a research mania in lockdown looking at these air fryer machines. Lol. 

Stumbled on this Toshiba model. Took a chance on it and it is excellent. Very impressed. High quality machine. Dials and functioning of menu is very good. Entire outside of machine is stainless steel, not painted steel anywhere.  Best looking appliance in my house. Makes my other appliances look old and dated. Lol. Size is much bigger than standard toaster ovens, but it is smaller than other air fryer toaster ovens that I have seen. This machine has 6 heating elements. (4 on top, 2 on bottom) and a good fan. Runs very quiet though. 

So, many things it can do. However, haven't really dug deep into what this machine can do, but first impressions are very good. It toasts excellent, quick, and even. I'm guessing it is because of the convection functioning. I mainly wanted this one because it has a dedicated dehydrate function, so I can make some beef and chicken jerky. 

There are a few minor improvements that I think would be good. Menu always defaults back to air fryer mode after you complete any function. It would be great to save the settings from the previous function you used, so you don't have to keep resetting the settings every time. The toast function on the lightest time, is still to long for me and cooks my toast too much. It would be great to be able to set the time on the toast mode. The instructions are very slim. Not much explaining standard methods, so there is a learning curve. The oven does get hot on the outside, but I think things are safe a couple inches away. 

Tip: The only modes that go up to 450 degrees is the pizza, reheat, and warm mode. Also, in any mode with preheating, you have to wait for the oven to preheat, say complete (a beep), put your food in, and then push start again to start timer. The display will keep blinking for 5 minutes then it goes to 00:00, then after another 5 minutes the display goes into sleep.

Best coutertop oven i had. Perfect cooking right from the start. Just let it reach the desired temperature. Using an oven thermometer, this beauty needed about 10 minutes to reach 350ºF.
Also, a funny caracteristic, there is no cancel button. Once the program starts, you have to let it go untill the end, unles you trick around by changing program. I switched it to reheat function for 1 minute and then the oven turned off. This is weird but considering the quality and efficiency of this kitchen tool, just grab one while it is available, you wint regret.
P.S. Fedex delivery was terrible, as usual. My box was heavily damaged and dirty. Obviously mishandeled. The crumbtray was misplaced, stuck in a corner under the side wall of the oven like if the box had dropped from high above the ground. As i tried the oven and it functioned all right, i kept it but please Walmart, kick Fedex so they stop deliver damaged shipments.

Probably the best countertop oven available

Working well so far with a few quirks. I had bought an instant pot vortex air fryer but ended up returning it for this toaster oven air fryer combo when our toaster oven broke. Using the knobs to adjust the settings takes some time to get used to. It does not memorize toast settings so you always have to select your number of slices and level of toast. The buttons and knobs get hot, and the door seal is peeling off after the second use. But overall still a decent toaster oven air fryer.

Great purchase for all its functions

It looks good on the counter, performs well, isn't too loud, and, perhaps most importantly, doesn't get too hot to the touch. I have tried purchasing a couple of other similar units in the past few years with identical features, design, and price - ended up returning them due to various issues, but external heat was a common theme and they did not seem at all safe, so I returned them within a week each. That's not to say that this unit has no external heat whatsoever, but it is infinitely more safe than the others from a 'touchability' standpoint. It cooks evenly and quickly, has enough capacity to get large jobs done, and isn't too loud (although it is by no means silent; it simply can't be when there is a large fan required to circulate air around the internals for the 'air frying' capability). The only issue I have with it is the actual control of the unit. I don't feel as though the setting operation is the most intuitive. The dials and buttons work well, but the process to set each specific function, temperature, and timing could have been more well thought out. Very happy with this purchase.

For the price, this fryer/over can't be beat

First air fryer I've bought. Works well. Dials and method of determining cook heat and cook time seem a little confusing or complicated at first. Easy clean up.

Like I said this would be 5 stars but...it lasted about 100 days and I had to return it.

Did I love it? For sure!  But it was a short lived love.  Toshiba told me to contact them with a reference number which I did but no reply back.

My opinion

Gave one star because oven died after 1 month.  Had the oven been able to survive at least one year, I would have rated the item 4 stars even with its quirky features. We really liked the oven and it seemed to go a great job, when it was working. Heating was a little uneven but acceptable. Liked having a dehydrator. Quirky features include no description of what A1-A6 means when air frying and bake max temp was 360.
