I've been using this mouse at work for years; one for my left hand and one for my right hand to prevent RSI.  I also carried one in my "road-warrior" bag.  I just retired and bought one for myself for home.  It is super easy - plug and play.  Easily adapts to left or right hand use - no set-up needed.  I recommend it highly.  Wal-mart had a great price on it, too.

great product. i've always preferred a trackball over a mouse. i lose track of where they are on the desk and bang them into things and sometimes they go flying off the edge. a trackball stays in one place, so that's not a problem. they are great for limited spaces or to use with your laptop in bed. only drawback is that most don't have a scroll wheel, but i can't think of a good place to put it where it wouldn't be in the way for me, so that's not really much of a drawback. logitech is a great brand. i bought this one to replace my old one. last one lasted 8 or 9 years. it's still working, but the left click didn't want to hold 100% of the time anymore. i will keep it around as a backup. yes, they are more expensive than a mouse, but totally worth it when they last that long.

These have been my main trackballs since DOS. The only time I need to buy another one is when I build a new computer, I'm pretty sure they last forever.  The ball glides smoothly and precisely.

better than a mouse

Not the best of Logitech's, but second best.  This is my 5th.  The best however was the old "Trackman Marble FX" which they don't make anymore unfortunately.  Using a trackball is an instant cure for carpel tunnel syndrome you get from using a mouse.

Great Trackball

I bought this mouse for the first time in 2006, then I moved, and left it in my old house. So I bought it again in 2013, then I moved to Florida, and I couldn't found it again. I tried other mouses, but I couldn't live without this Track Ball Mouse. If you are about my age (I was born in 1971), you may remember the Centipede Arcade, well, it's the same. It's Ergonomic, Plug and Play, if you want you can program the 4 buttons, or use them with the default settings, it has a USB cord, I know, but that's the way I like it; I don't need to recharge or exchange batteries.

This is my 2nd one.  The 1st one lasted 15+ years.  Was still working, but I think that a wire, inside, was starting to come loose, so I was getting some intermittent failure to work.  This one is actually better as the ball doesn't fall out like the old one and that I (or the cats) was/were regularly chasing it around the floor.  It's comfortable in my hand.  I have arthritis in my thumb, so a regular mouse causes discomfort, which the roller ball doesn't.  Love it!  And affordable!

Love the Logtech Marble Trackball

this is the first mouse I've had with a track ball.  I purchased it for the recommendation of my doctor to limit my shoulder movement due with a regular mouse.  this mouse is very heavy so when you set it, it stays in place and does not move.  every week I move my mouse to the other hand so I like the fact of being able to adjust the sides or even if I just want to adjust so I'm not using my thumb all the time it is beneficial.

Trackball

Love the trackball action. A problem with the driver, though: the settings are not saved, so that after the computer is restarted, the Cursor Speed setting much be re-entered into Windows' Mouse Settings. Easy couple-step process but should not be necessary!

I was looking for something that was easier on my hands. This isn't it. Wanted something less painful. This isn't it. I wish I could send it back. I thought it would get batter once I adapted to it. That didn't happen.

Not for me. Glad I can write it off.

Logitech Trackman Marble Trackball Mouse -- You cannot scroll up or down on any page, website, software, web page....etc... 

You have to download some (hopefully up to date) third-party freeware to program you mouse buttons.
If you don't mind google-ing for freeware, downloading freeware, adding extentions to you browers...purchase Logitech Trackman Marble Trackball Mouse at your own risk. Pay the extra money and get a trackball that has a scroll wheel.
