For those that don't know, Crokinole was invented in Canada in 1875 by Eckhardt Wettlaufer in Sebastopol (Tavistock) Ontario for his 5 year old son Adam. The original board was round. Octagonal boards were developed for easier storage and cost efficiency. Overall, I'm quite pleased with this board. It's my first. There was one issue that was easily fixed. It came well packed, but the outer maple ring was not sufficiently glued and came loose making the journey across the pond. A simple fix: I reset it with PL so It's not going anywhere now. I knocked off a star for that. I researched budget boards a fair bit before finding this one. This board had no reviews so I want leave one here for anyone else searching. This is a Chinese replica of a Canadian made “signature red” Tracey Board. It's 63% cheaper than the Tracey board. You always get what you pay for, but this board is definitely worth it for the price. Most budget boards I found online were generally $50-$60 cheaper but they were all smaller playing surfaces and octagonal. I wanted a full size round board and I really liked the simple look of this board without all the big numbers and the checkerboard on the bottom etc. (Plus it's fun to send players biscuits flying back around to them! This board is mainly MDF with a thin veneer hardwood top. It's solid and quite heavy and 30 1/2” across. The maple veneer is lacquered and smooth  and buttons glide nicely. It has a regulation 26" playing surface.  The rubber bumpers and gold screws are a nice solid touch. Overall the board feels good and it's super fun to play with family and friends.
