The stain-free, high carbon steel, serrated blades of the Porterhouse knives effortlessly slice through savory steaks and other cooked meats, while the dishwasher-safe, dark brown Polywood handles allow for easy cleanup.Before using your steak knives for the first hand-wash with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.Do not soak or leave food residue on the knives for long periods of time. Superficial pitting and/or staining on the blades may occur if very salty or acidic foods are left on the knives. It is never a good idea to leave your knives in the sink. You may cut yourself reaching in and may also damage the blades by jostling them against the sink bottom and other metal utensils.You can use either wood or poly cutting boards with your knives. We do not recommend glass or marble cutting surfaces, since they will damage the serrated edges. Avoid using the knives as a can opener, screwdriver or chisel. Never pry or twist the blades. Knives are cutting instruments and the blade may be damaged with improper use. Although the knives are water-resistant and dishwasher-safe, harsh dishwasher detergents may dull the finish of the handles and stain the blades over time. Automatic dishwashing can also damage the blades by knocking them against other utensils. These knives are sharp and good looking.  I had an expensive German brand but they got rust spots.  I was so disappointed.  Tramontina were not as expensive.  They stay sharp and shiny.  So much so that I bought a set of forks to match.  These will last. I am happy with my purchase

I have it feom my husband 50 yrs ago. Excellent. I thought they don't  have it anymore. Im going to buy again some of them are missing. Maybe I lost them in a camping trip

The last steak knife you ever need

The knifes fit so well in my hand, nice balance, sharp and cut everything very well. So well that I no longer use any of the other kitchen knives  that I have.
I can not give them 5 stars because the stain on the wood handles is very p very uneven.  varies from nice rich brown to almost no stain on all four knives.    Makes me wonder if I was sent factory seconds knives.  Not like the ones that I use when at Teaxs Roadhouse, which is the reason I ordered the knives.
