This is a 20lb blanket and I believe I needed all 20 lbs of it.  However, it will remove itself from the bed.  I tried it one night and the next night I woke up to it sliding off it started at my feet and the weight pulled itself off of me. If you don't move you are fine.

I love this item

This weighted blanket has helped with my sleep big time  it does take a few days to get used to, i almost returned it and got a lighter one. The cooling side does seem to work and it comes with a cover already attached so you dont have to wash the whole thing or buy a cover for it. I seem to wake up more refreshed.

Great sleep aid

Well worth it! 
So comforting and it is actually cooling! I am normally a very hot person but can cover myself up to my neck with this blanket and not be too hot, even in hot and muggy temperatures!

Love it!

No complaints.  Came before due date, nicely packaged.  Clean, no odors.  Good instructions.  Has 2 sides of fabric; one for warmth, one for coolness, both in neutral gray tones.  It is heavier than I thought.  Keeps the cold air pockets out of the bed; really makes you feel secure.  Not sure if it may be too hot for summer sleeping though as I purchased it in the fall.  It is heavy to lift and should be properly distributed over the bed, otherwise the whole thing slides to the floor.  I find it somewhat restricting when I try to turn over.

This was my second purchase of the same item because I was so satisfied with the first. This one was purchased as a gift.

We've solved my problem

Heavier than I thought it would feel. My wife sleeps with it and says it stop her tossing and turning. We have a 65lb bulldog that sleeps on the bed/us and my wife says the dog no longer wakes her when he moves around. I'm going to get a lighter one for our son.

Great Blanket

Got this blanket to replace my 16lb one that I had for four years. Things I need in a weighted blanket are to be positively crushed, flattened, and immobilized by its heaviness. This blanket delivers, and feels like a huge upgrade. Bonus: there's a cooling side and a fleecy side for temperature comfort.

I wanted a heavier weighted blanket after trying a heavy wool duvet and this definitely is a heavy weight blanket! It is twin size, which isn't too clear in the ad, but that's fine as this weight is not for everyone. I'm around 180lbs and the weight is fine for me.

The main thing is that it truly does help me sleep more deeply and helps with anxiety.

I don't know that I would call this "cooling" but the cover does help it feel a bit cooler during the summer, though I can't use it when it is too hot.

Helps me sleep deeply

My husband and I both tried this and we both felt suffocatedc by the weight....almost closterphobic. You can't move under it. My hubby tried and almost dislocated hip. I can't see how this could work. A pain to wash, felt like a 3rd, heavy person taking up space in our bed.
