Value For Money

Built with a solid and compact structure.

First the Pro's:
Very fast on a USB 3.0 port with a fast SD Card.
Solid feel construction and very small.
Works with SDHC (I haven't tried SDXC yet) cards.
Great Price for what you get!
Firmware Upgradable.

Con's:
None yet.

My opinion:
I was in need of a SDHC card reader as my internal computer card reader wouldn't handle the cards above 2GB capacity. I found this product at Walmart online, quite shocked they would carry a quality item for such a good price. I have used the item on two different cards and it is fast when using a USB 3.0 port. If you use a USB 2.0 port well you slow down to the maximum speed of that port which is still good when you need to read/write to an SDHC card. The firmware of the reader is upgradable from Transcend to ensure compatibility with future SD cards, likely SDXC since this capacity/format is just now becoming more popular.

I strongly recommend this product if you are in the market for a simple quality SD card reader even if you do not have a USB 3.0 port as this will maximize your speed in a USB 2.0 port and it is designed to be somewhat future-proof, a very nice touch.

Outstanding Fast SD Card Reader

walmart.com

If you only need a reader for SD and SD micro cards, this is the one for you. It's the size of a USB memory stick and functions at USB 3.0 speed. It is also backward compatible for use on USB 2.0 ports.

Great product and price for USB 3.0 SD card reader

Don't buy the 99 cent ones on eBay, they break quickly. Spend a few bucks more, get this.

Great Card Reader for the price

Great SD card reader/writer with USB 3.1 technology that makes downloading large files to an SD card very quick. Very happy with my purchase

The little reader/writer exceeded my expectations and works fine, especially with tablets... not only the product was what I had hoped for, but the prompt service and delivery of the product was top of the line also!!..

Not only a excellent reader but compact als0

I had an older 2.0 Card reader which quit working. This new one seems to be doing okay.

USB3.0 Card Reader

The product is compact and very fast to copy data. The only thing I was surprised and little disappointed was the cards are inserted from the side instead of the end of the Reader. That is fine for the microSD cards but with the SD card it sticks out too far and can't plug the card reader into the port if the next port on the computer is being used. Just not enough room for both. That is why having the design to plug into the end of the reader would be better. Performance is excellent and the activity light is very useful. Well built and definitely a good buy.

One of best fast Compact Card Reader

This is one of the few readers that can read and write a Garmin FlightStream 510 SD card, which is not getting mounted by most other card readers.
The two missing things that would make this a 5 star product is include an option to connect to both USB-A and -C (one on each end), and include a little plastic loop to connect it to a key ring.

More compatible than others

Small, compact, and a good price. My leap Frog card reader failed after only three or four months use, so I'm hoping to have better luck with this Transcend. It's more compact and it does'nt have that blindingly bright red led that the Leapgrog had. The led on the Transcend is a dim blue, which is nice. The case is a glossy black while the sides have a matt finish, looks pretty sharp. Again, nice small size too. Good deal.

Nice size.Good value.

Works rocket fast in a 3.0 port. Almost SATA SSD fast with my ultra high speed SDHC card. SD card mounts 90 degrees on the side so this is not a pocket-able combo while the SD card is installed. Win7x64.

SD card side mounts

Transcend USB 3.0 SDHC / SDXC / microSDHC / SDXC Card Reader front-facing compact black USB-A card reader with dual full-size SD and microSD slots, small activity LED, matte plastic enclosure and integrated USB-A plug, USB 3.1 Gen 1 interface for fast transfers, shown on white background; often used as a portable plug-and-play reader for photographers and mobile backups.
