Pros: He's Goth Hot Rod! Also I like the transparent dark blue windshield in car mode instead of a solid painted windshield. The car rolls nicely. I especially like the way the car mode looks from a side, front corner view, corner being the area around the front wheel (ignoring the visible ball joint...). The transformation is easy. He's the size I expect from Cyberverse Warrior Class, about 5 1/2 inches. He can turn his head, and has joints at his shoulders, knees, and hips. He'll look good with your Soundwave, if you have one. 

Cons: It's a very simple looking toy, and the shape of the robot mode is.. wrong looking for Cyberverse Hot Rod (too big and blocky in arms and chest). The only area with dark red is his chest, unlike the show which has red accents on nearly every part of his body, would've been nice to at least get some red on his head, arms, and legs. The shoulder ball joints are openly visible on either side of the car mode's front. No points of articulation at waist or elbows. His gimmick is odd and kind of pointless, would work better if he had elbows to bend to hold the flames in front of his face, if the flames were on the outside of his forearms rather than upper arms or something? Overall, from a Cyberverse Warrior Class I don't expect deluxe quality but still expect more. 

HOWEVER, if you are shopping for a kid who specifically wants a toy of Hot Rod's DARK version, this will work just fine. It's definitely capable of being a good addition to a child's play time even if he can't bend his elbows or turn his waist! And I'm sure some kids would find joy in making blue flames pop out of the side of his arms. 

I don't regret buying this, despite all the cons. I'd also like to note I got it in store. I keep him in car mode mostly, which I like to look at, except for sometimes to stand with Soundwave of course. 

I'd give him 2 stars if he was his regular red but... he's Goth Hot Rod. That was the main motivating factor for the purchase and bumps my appreciation of him up somewhat, so extra star for that. 

I've thought way too much about this toy. If anyone reads this, so long after release date, hopefully it helps lol.

goth hot rod!

Not at all what I expected. I thought this was bigger. it's very very small. Way overcharged for this item. It should be about $10.00 if that! Not happy at all! Will be returning this. I have included a picture with a regular size pen next to it for comparison.
