for the longest time, walmart priced this set at a higher price than it should have been, i dont know if it was an AI issue, but it was listed for 20$ more than retail...

however recently they ended up doing a rollback sale on him, and it was enough of a price drop that it was worth buying

getting the set in hand, they are some awesome figures, thundertrons new head and paintjob really makes the mold pop, and calcitron and night strike are excelent inclusions...

overall a solid set for 45$, horrid one for 83$...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A great reuse of the separate molds for these characters. The Carnivacian was just a fun add-on to me but the colors are so good, I'm glad he was included. Nightstrike is the real king of this set, though; you can't go wrong with a transforming psychic vampire bat with glamour that turns into a Jolly Roger 😉

A little 3 pack of bots for anyone collection 
With a lighter version of thundertron, he comes with a different head sculpt and leader of the Star Raiders. Comes with Calcitron and Nightstrike.

Set sail in the Sea of stars!

Really glad to see this set offered at such a great price. Three robots for the price of one. The larger one is fantastic.  My kid loves it the most

star raiders are the best

It's always fun to have multiple bots in one box. The theme and characters are great. Had an issue with the foot attaching to the sword but I can understand a qc slip up here and there because I have purchased 1000's of transformers and my experiences have been mostly positive. A robot space pirate? Yes, please

The price is a little much but you are getting quite a lot for each figure, and especially since you can do so much creative stuff with Calcitron it's just a lot of overall fun.

So cool

This is just a better version of legacy Thundertron with 2 extra guys. If you like the other Thundertron you'll like this one and same thing with calcitron and nightstrike both being recolors of previous figures, magneous and ratbat respectively. I really like the colors of everything and I think it's pretty clever that nightstrike turns into a pirate flag.

Some really good recolored figures

This is a very fun set, and a better value than Thundertron on his own. 
Nighstrike goes great with him. Very fun to have a pirate style bot with Nightstrike on his shoulder.
Calcitron was better and more fun than expected.

Thundertron has some noticeable hollow spots though. So if you really want him to look good, it's worth getting the upgrade kit to fill the gaps.

That said, the price now is a lot higher than when I got the set. It's originally only $60, so not sure why Walmart's own offering has actually increased in price from that.
