A little peeved that the arm cannon is so small but upgrade kits ain't that expensive so it's fine. Solid figure, that could use a little bit of silver paint.

Definitely worth buying, but could use paint.

Megatron 114

This figure depicts D-16 after he got his original T-cog in the tomb of the Primes, with the red eyes he has after dropping Orion Pax. With that in mind, his accessories depict the cannon he has at this point, as well as additional blasters to arm the tank mode. This originally cost $24.97 MSRP, but I purchased this for just over $30 with tax about a year after its original release, so I feel I got a good deal on a figure that was hard to find to begin with.

A good depiction of Megatron from Transformers One

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After the underrated (and unfortunately underperforming) movie Transformers One released it is common knowledge the vast majority of viewers were likely to empathize with D-16's story and transformation (heh) into Megatron--a transformation masterfully conveyed in his change in appearance, voice, and demeanor over the course of the film. Naturally these accoutrements to a main character (D-16/Megatron) in an already fantastic movie demands an equally if not greater fantastic studio series figure--that being Studio Series 114 Transformers One Megatron. Studio Series 114 Transformers One Megatron adequately captures the design of Megatron in Transformers One, albeit without as much as the assumed heft and chunk he is seen to have in the film. I am indeed suggesting Megatron should be somewhat bulkier as a slight drawback to the design of the figure ( just compare him side by side with the earlier released Studio Series Transformers One Optimus Prime). However, the counterpoint to his lack of heft is he can be easily  put into numerous dynamic poses with relatively less effort compared to Studio Series Transformers One Optimus Prime (who isn't a slouch either in that regard).

Articulation wise Megatron's head can rotate 360 degrees and look/bend down roughly  45 degrees or so. The arms can rotate 360 degrees and about 180 degrees side to side. The elbows and wrists of the figure can also rotate 360 degrees as can the lower torso/pelvis. Megatron's legs can do the splits, going as much as 180 degrees forward AND back, whereas his knees can bend backwards as much as 60 degrees or so. His knees are on ankle rockers and so can be moved side to side as well and roughly 70 degrees backward. A good amount of articulation in a single figure.

Converting Megatron to his alt-mode (a cybertronian tank) is relatively simple and will probably only take the first attempt (if that) with the figure's instructions. He should be easy enough for a 5 year old or even 90 year old to transform from tank to robot and back in a few seconds. His treads (which transform from his legs) unfortunately have no wheels, so he can't roll on a flat surface...but he can slide.

I'd give the figure a 9/10, my biggest complaint being the lack of heft/girth to Megatron's figure compared to his design in the Transformers One Film (I would have preferred he and Optimus both be voyager sized figures and not deluxe sized figures but perhaps that will corrected for in the future). If you have Studio Series Transformers One Optimus Prime you will absolutely want this Megatron figure as a companion.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was an amazing figure. It's extremely accurate in terms of look. It was easy to transform him and the packaging allowed for a scene to be set. My kid likes to pretend he's playing it in the movie so it was really fun to watch. This set does have some tiny pieces so I do not recommend for kids who still put toys in their mouth. Very sturdy toy.

They love how detailed it is and enjoy transforming it between robot and tank modes. The figure is sturdy, with great articulation for action poses. The transformation can be a bit tricky, but my kids quickly got the hang of it. Overall, it's a fantastic addition to their toy collection and keeps them entertained for hours.

Articulation is solid, allowing for dynamic poses, while the transformation is smooth. A must-have for collectors and fans of the iconic Decepticon leader!

Cool toy

This figure is frankly a disgrace for the character and the price.  Megatron is so much better and bigger than this version of him.  The main problems with it are the alt mode and the long legs.  That trait of all the TRANSFORMERS ONE figures' portrayal is a major defect overall.  

For the robot mode the weapon selection is a poor homage to the original fusion cannon, and would have been better having a melee weapon instead of a smaller laser.

Flexibility is a plus for limbs and torso rotation.  Decent posing can be a challenge while trying to balance a functional pose versus a well balanced orientation though.

As a tank this transformation is a big stretch.  The overall scale and lack of weapon versatility makes for a poor mode compared to the Autobot characters.

Overall, this a weak entry for the character, and you should only consider getting it if it's on sale.  Otherwise, it should, as Unicron stated, "Proceed, on your way to oblivion."

Psst, Walmart.com, you need a better picture of the figure that doesn't have "phallic framing" to make it more visually appealing.  Just saying.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was underwhelmed by this transformer toy. It was part of the newest release of transformer movies, and my son was looking forward to playing with it. But even with instructions, it took my husband and I over 30 minutes to actually transform it and once we did, it wasn't stable and pieces were falling off. if you plan on keeping this in the box and never actually playing with it then maybe this is the one for you. But if you do plan on transforming it prepared to be frustrated over how hard it is to transform. The quality was not very good. The plastic seemed cheap and was not easy to work with.
